*Calum's P.O.V.*
                          
                                The band wanted to practice tonight but because Maddy went to bed, we don't wanna wake her. I've never said anything to her, but I like Maddy. After her brother died, she's been kinda distant with everyone but me. She lays in my lap all the time and every time she's awake, she's with me. I know that she knows I was on the phone with Jared when he died, but I never talk about it. I called her that day and told her something bad happened.
                          
                                That's when things changed around here. We all moved into Jared's house. She shares Jared's room with me. She told me that she couldn't handle being in there by herself, but she wanted that room. I always hear her break downs. I'm not supposed to, but I hear them. I wish she would let us comfort her. We all miss Jared but I guess its understandable that she misses him so much.
                          
"What?" Luke asks.
                          
"Oh, Uh, nothing. I just got a message from Crystal." Michael repeats.
                          
"Fucking block her!" Ash says. "She doesn't deserve you!"
                          
Ash isn't wrong. We all hated what Crystal did to Michael. But he waited for her to leave. He use to be so sassy, but now he keeps his mouth shut.
                          
"Yeah, I meant to do that." Mikey sighs.
                          
I know he misses someone loving him. I miss being loved too. We all do.
                          
"Wait, where did Maddy go?" Luke asks.
                          
"Why do you care? You're always mad at her." Ash says.
                          
Luke rolls his eyes. "I don't get mad. I get frustrated."
                          
"There's no difference," I say.
                          
"She went to bed hours ago," Mikey says, not looking up from his phone.
                          
        She's always in bed. I'm pretty sure shes depressed, but I can't help her. She won't let me.
                          
"Yeah, I'm going to bed too," Ash says. "It's late."
                          
We all end up going to bed. 
                          
When I get to our room, It takes me a minute to realize she not wearing her brother's hoodie for once. She's wearing mine. I smile and lay beside her. She stirs and slightly opens her eyes. 
                          
"That's why the bed got warm." She closes her eyes and slightly smiles.
                          
Oh shit, she still smiles.
                          
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you."
                          
She shakes her head. That's her way of saying I'm fine.
                          
After a few minutes of silence, she moves closer to me. I'm use to her doing this, so I just put my arms around her. She sighs in a really cute way.
                          
Stop thinking like that, Calum. Jared told you when you were younger to stay away from her.
                          
But he left her. I never will.
                          
"I promise," I whisper.
                          
"Promise what?" She asks.
                          
"I promise that I won't leave you. I will always be here for you." I finish.
                          
She cuddles closer and plants a kiss on my cheek.
                          
"What was that for?" I ask in shock.
                          
"Because I can." She says.
                          
After a few more seconds of silence, she adds, "And because I love you."
                          
"I love you, too, Maddy."
                          
Maybe she's just out of it. I did kinda wake her. But she never moves away from me. She stays in my arms.
                          
Maybe she does love me...

*Maddy's P.O.V*
                          
                        My nightmares didn't come back last night. What did I do differently? I told Cal I loved him. He said it back. I kissed his cheek and I stayed close to him last night.
                          
I sit up fast and look beside me. Cal's not there. I get up and go downstairs.
                          
"You're awake," Cal says, getting up off the couch.
                          
"Yeah, I uh, I got turned around somehow." I stutter.
                          
"You're fine. Sorry I didn't stay in bed with you. Michael had a break down last night after we all went to bed so I got up to help him." Cal explains.
                          
I shake my head.
                          
"I have a question..." He says.
                          
I force a little smile.
                          
"Did you really mean that last night? When you said you loved me?" He asks.
                          
Just as I was gonna answer him, Liam burst the door open.
                          
"Why the hell won't you talk to me?" He asks. "You're MY girl. NOT someone else's."
                          
I sigh. I hate him so much but I can't leave him. He will kill me...
                          
"I'm sorry..." I say.
                          
"Are you cheating on me?" He asks, getting angry.
                          
"No, Liam, I'm not. I'm sorry..."
                          
"STOP SAYING SORRY YOU PATHETIC BITCH!" Liam yells. "YOU'RE COMING TO LIVE WITH ME!"
                          
He grabs my arm and starts to drag me out of the house. Well, he doesn't get far.
                          
Cal and Ash both grab him and get me out of his grip.
                          
"Touch her again Liam and I will hurt you," Ash says.
                          
"You're just a pathetic drummer. You're not THAT strong." Liam teases.
                          
Ash hits him so hard, he falls back on the couch.
                          
"I'm leaving you, Liam. I need someone else and it's not you." I say.
                          
He gets up off the ground. "This isn't the end."
                          
"Oh, but it is." Cal slams the door in his face.
                          
These guys are my fucking heroes.
