Leo
Not much changed after the night, at least that's what you thought. Leo saw how nervous you got when he got too close, but he began to conclude that you were uncomfortable around him now. It scared him. How did he screw up and make his best friend coward away and appear nervous whenever he showed up? He wanted to ask you about it, but when it would just be the two of you, you fled the room to find something to do.
Leo walked into the living room after a short patrol on his own. All of the boys were doing their own thing throughout the lair, but you'd been sitting on the couch watching TV. The blue leader smiled and sat next to you. You side-eyed him and leaned away unconsciously. He frowned, but you had a smile on your face as always.
"Hey Leo, what's up?"
"Uh, just finished patrol. What are you up to?" He looked at the TV, an unfamiliar show playing on the screen. He looked back at you, watching you smile at something one of the characters said.
"Figured I'd watch a movie until you got back to hang out with me." You giggled and playfully rolled your eyes at the leader.
"Me?" He questioned. He watched the look you gave him and frowned. His heart was happy that you wanted to hang out with him, but his head was confused. Hadn't you just been avoiding him? Or did he only imagine it? You smiled kindly.
"Yeah, best friends, right?" You gave a small smile and turned back to the TV. You never thought friendly words could taste so bitter.
Raph
He noticed you were more clumsy. You would drop things when talking to him, and when he was around you were nose-deep into another project. It was impossible to pull you away from them this time around, and he couldn't understand why. He wondered if you went inside and slept when he left your rooftop. When you were at the lair, things were more quiet than usual. Your feet tapping anxiously was the most apparent sound. His brothers easily snatched you away, and he began to wonder why you were so mad at him. Had he done something?
You took a deep breath and walked into the lair. Today you had to spend with Raph, the red banded turtle you'd been so awkward around. You had to play everything right so he knew nothing was up. So you walked straight to where he sat in the dojo, counting 203 sit ups when you entered. You paused when you entered, but continued his work out right after.
"Hey Raph, what are you up to?"
"What's it look like, shorty?"
You cringed at the nickname. Yesterday, when someone had called you shorty, it followed with taunting laughs and your backpack being threw on top of the lockers. You tried to smile anyways. Raph was your best friend- you coughed and covered your mouth with your elbow. Raph looked at you.
"Ya okay?"
"Of course. I probably just need some water. When I'm finished did you want to read this comic I got? I've not seen you read it before and it's a new addition to the store."
"You, (y/n), what to read a comic?" He raised one end of his mask. I gave a playful smile. "And it's not about science?"
"I saw it in the window and thought you might like it. Do you want to read it or not?"
"Duh!" He sat up and grabbed your backpack from your hands. "Now go get a drink so we can read this thing!"
Raph and you both paused when you left the room. In your mind you celebrated making Raph happy again, but your heart didn't feel the same way. Raph wondered if he imagined you as off as he thought. If you didn't want to be his friend so bad, why had you brought him a comic?
