I woke up bright and early to get ready for my 1st day at Cambridge High. I just moved here and I was a little nervous. I wore: and headed down stairs where the box of cereal waited for me on the counter. I made a bowl and slowly ate it. As I finished up my mom came downstairs and adjusted her button up shirt.
"I'm taking you to school." She said as she grabbed the car keys.
I nodded and place the bowl in the sink. I walked behind her checking my backpack for all my materials. I got in the passenger seat of the car while she placed her bags in the truck of our Mercedes Benz. She pulled out of the driveway and out onto the quiet neighborhood streets.
----------School
We pulled up to school as the bell rang. This is what morning traffic does to you. I kissed my mom on the cheek and stepped out on the sidewalk closing the door behind me. I walked up the steps and into the main hallway of the school. It was fancy and clean. I walked over to the door that said main office and opened the door slowly. I came in and went to a desk where a lady gave me my schedule.
"Go to room 305. This is your first class." The lady said as she popped her gum and pointed.
I looked the schedule over and looked at the numbers by the door till I found the room. The door was closed and the students looked bored. I opened the door and walked in handing my paper to the teacher. She smiled turned to the class.
"Everyone this is Lauren, our new student." She welcomed.
"Sit at that desk." She said looking at my schedule some more. I walked to my seat and sat down. A boy dropped his pencil next my desk causing me to pick it up. I faced him and grinned.
"You dropped your pencil." I stated as I gave it to him.
"Thank you" He said biting his bottom lip.
That boy was mad fine. I turned back around to face the teacher who now started talking again. I followed her directions and took out a sheet of paper writing down what was on the board. Apparently we have some kind of history project.
"I'm assigning partners this time. Seem that no one made progress last time." She stated grabbing a clipboard.
I watched the reactions of people as they assigned them to another person. Some complained and some cheered but me I really didn't care who I got; as long as they were reliable enough to get their work done.
"Lauren, you will work with Daniel." She said giving me a smile.
I looked around the room.
"Who's Daniel?" I asked politely.
"Right behind you." I turned around and he smiled.
I looked away and tried not to smile. I was kind of happy I got him. But I don't know what kind of guy he is just yet.
"Alright so get their numbers and start working on this project pronto. You don't have much time on this project." She started typing on the computer.
Everyone started talking. I looked around and then down at my assignment. This isn't very hard. I was tapped on the shoulder and I turned around.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Lauren." I grinned.
"Well Lauren, don't you think you should give me your number so I can come over today?" He asked.
I wrote my number on a sheet of notebook paper with the address below. I gave it to him causing him to smile even more. The bell rang and I placed my notebook in my backpack.
"Call you later then?" He asked.
"Yeah I'd like that." I made a small smile.
That was the first time I ever meant Daniel. The love of my life. But who knew my life would slowly go down a path I thought would never happen.
