Caroline's P.O.V.
My chest heaved. I took deep breaths. I stared down the aisle at my soon to be husband. Previously Alexander and I signed a marriage contract that had us married for 6 months. After the 6 months we were technically unmarried. In was practically an annulment. After he proposed to me we waited until the contract ended and then had a ceremony. The one that was happening now.
I was wearing the most beautiful wedding dress I've ever seen. It was simple, but more elegant than anything I've ever worn. I had twirled a little when I had been in the dressing room.
My Dress:I gripped my grandfather's arm as I stopped in front of Alex. I stared in his eyes. They were full of joy and excitement. His smile was wide as he looked at me. Alex turned his gaze to my grandfather as he gave me away. My grandfather walked to his seat and Alex to my hands in his as we turned to face each other again. Then the priest cleared his throat. I took in a deep breath. This was it.
"We are gathered here today, to witness the holy union of Alexander Wilson and Caroline Rodgers. I now ask for the rings." Veronica stepped forward and handed us the rings. She smiled at me before walking to sit by our grandfather. She was wearing a short sleeved dress that showed her scars, but they were healing amazingly. She was going to therapy and a doctor.
Veronica's Dress:
"Now Alexander, say your vows as you put on the ring." The priest instructed. I looked into Alex's eyes as he held my gaze. His eyes were beautiful. Perfect orbs that you could drown in.
"Only a few months ago I didn't believe in love. But now I do. I believe in it only because of you. I don't think anyone would ever make me believe. I never ever thought this would happen. But here I am. Standing before you, begging you to become my wife. Hoping you won't leave me at the alter. I need you Caroline. Not only that but I love you. More than anyone will ever love anyone. You are mine and only mine. And I'm yours and only yours. I love you Caroline Rodgers, and I am way too impatient to make you a Wilson." Alex slipped the ring on my finger and I looked at it in awe. It was beautiful but it was totally simple. Totally me. I looked back up.
"Alex I told you awhile ago that I believed in love. That I believed in finding your soulmate. But there's always more to it. My life sucked. It was horrible. I lived in awful conditions, lost both of my parents, and had way too much on my plate. I had grown to believe that love exists for everyone... except me. I thought I would never love someone. The one time I thought I did love someone and was loved back, I didn't. It didn't last and I was left heartbroken. Now look at me. I'm marrying you. The man I love. You showed me something I have wanted ever since I was a little girl. You showed me that I can get love. I already have it. I love you Alexander Wilson. And nothing in this world, not even God, can change that." I slid his ring on his finger as a single tear escaped. But I didn't wipe it away. Because it was a happy tear.
"Now, do you Alexander Wilson take Caroline Rodgers as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, through sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part?"
Alexander stared deep into my eyes when he answered, "I do." I but my lip trying to hide my wide and happy smile. But that failed.
"Now do you, Caroline Rodgers, take Alexander Wilson as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, through sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do you part?" The priest finished and he was smiling.
"I do." I announced lightly. Something in Alex's eyes shifted when I said this.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. Alexander, you may kiss your bride." Alex moved swiftly towards me, grabbed my waist and brought his mouth to mine. I stood on my tiptoes as our lips met. Cheers exploded from the crowd around us. But I didn't care. In that small moment, it was me and my husband. No one else around. Just us two. Newly weds. Nothing could be better than this.Ok one more chapter! I'm honestly so freaking happy with this! Also I will be writing 3 more arranged marriage novels. One will be Veronica's love story with a certain ass hole named..... Kyle! And the other will be Alex's and Caroline's kids! See you soon!
