Jesy hadn't noticed that they'd ended up here. She followed Bucket and they found a bench to sit at quickly.

"What's this great name?" Jesy asked in slight excitement. She'd never had a nickname before. She usually just called people whatever she wanted because she never remembered people's names. Getting herself a nickname sounded different and thrilling.

Leigh-Anne sat comfortably on the bench then looked at Jesy. "Jesy can I call you . . . Jes?"

Jesy wore a huge smile at first, thinking she heard something incredible but when she registered it . . . "Wh-what? Jes?"

Leigh stared with an open mouth, as if fascinated.

Jesy cringed. "Why the hell would you call me that? It's not special. Every ugly Jack out there calls me 'Jes'."

Leigh's fascinated expression dimmed. "Jesy . . . Jes."

"No! Think of a better one. I spent a full on five seconds coming up with Bucket Hat and it wasn't for you to call me what people I don't like as much call me." She folded her arms in wait.

Leigh-Anne blinked her eyes.

"I'm waiting. Give me a different name now."

Leigh-Anne scratched her head. "Jes."

"No! No Jes. Get 'Jes' out of your head and think of something that suits me. Like how 'Bucket' is a weird quirky name so it matches who you are?? Yeah??? Like that??" Jesy was almost doing all the work here.

Leigh-Anne sucked her tongue and kept scratching her head.

Jesy narrowed her eyes. "No sucky SUCKY!"

Some kids were passing at that point and they gave her weirded out glances before walking away faster.

Jesy covered her mouth.

Leigh was laughing. "Jesy is crazy!"

Jesy looked at her. "You did that on purpose and you keep doing things like that!"

Leigh-Anne kept laughing. "Jesy . . . okay I'll call you a very special name that begins with . . . the letter G."

Jesy could guess. "You're gonna call me 'green' because my eyes are green right now."

Leigh-Anne looked lost in this world. How did Jesy know?

Jesy rolled her eyes. "Come on. I'm cool, sexy, famous, hot, everyone wants me, I'm the best thing in your life . . . any names for that?"

"Sexy Girl?" Leigh asked, perking up.

Jesy made a face. "Ehh it needs to be more special."

Leigh looked lost again. "Umm an umm . . . mmm . . . a girlfriend?"

Jesy did not look impressed or amused.

Leigh-Anne felt like Jesy liked it. "A girlfriend!"

"No! Can't you read my face?! That's a stupid name Bucket!" Jesy snapped.

Leigh leaned back with fear in her eyes.

Jesy covered her mouth again. Shoot. My jackass is showing. She shook her head. "Sorry babe."

Leigh-Anne looked away from her for a moment. She looked back after a while. "Goop?"

"What is with you and G's?" Jesy face-palmed.

Leigh laughed. "Jesy what if I called you Gift? You're my gift under my Christmas tree in my heart." She held her chest.

Jesy blinked her eyes. She then rubbed her chin. "Ehhh nah. Bucket is catchy and fun but gift isn't."
