When Younghyun woke up that morning, he flung his arm over to the other side of the bed. When he felt only cold sheets, his eyes opened.

Sure enough, he was the only one in the double bed; the other side was as barren as a desert with the duvet flung back. He sat up, staring around the room and registering it as empty before his eyes settled on the newest addition to the ceiling of pictures.

It was plastered right above Jae's pillow, a bright picture of him and Younghyun grinning just after Jae had stolen his phone. He'd ran off, waiting until the other leapt on him from behind to whip out his own phone and snap the picture. Younghyun smiled as he looked at it. If you looked close enough, you could just see the beginnings of the younger's tattoo, peaking out from under his jacket sleeve.

Suddenly the door opened, drawing his attention away from the photo to stare at the person in the doorway.

Jae strolled in, his hair sopping wet with a towel wrapped lazily around his waist. His glasses were balanced wonkily on his nose, making him look slightly cross eyed as he squinted at Younghyun thought the fogged up lenses.

"Morning," he grinned, watching the elder's adorable face as he waited for the steam to clear from his glasses.

Finally Jae grinned, "Hey," he said. He walked over to a chair in his room and grabbed a pair of jeans. "Sleep okay?"

Younghyun crinkled his nose, "I would've if someone hadn't been wriggling all night and taking up all the sheets."

Jae gaped, "I do not!" He rummaged in a drawer for a pair of boxers. As he put them on, Younghyun rolled his eyes.

"Yes you do! You're like an caterpillar, wriggling like you've got no legs and then building a chrysalis for yourself. Except normally they only do it once in their lifetime."

Smiling, Jae chuckled, "Must be why I'm so beautiful. Cuz when a caterpillar comes out of its cocoon, it's a butterfly."

Younghyun shook his head, "No.. a cocoon is a moth. Maybe you're a moth, that would explain why you're as blind as one."

He should've seen the cushion coming.

He collapsed back against the bed, groaning.

"You might wanna get up, Bri. We're taking Avery out and she's already getting way too excited."

Jae grinned when he felt Younghyun's arms wrap around his shirtless waist and his back pressed against the younger's chest.

The latter rested his chin on Jae's shoulder. "Okay," he mumbled, swaying their two bodies back and forth to a made up melody that he started humming aloud. Soon it evolved into one of their unreleased songs - one that they'd written purely for their sake, for them to look back on and to smile at.

Jae started singing softly, turning round so that instead their chests were pressed together as they moved from side to side, singing the soft song to accompany themselves. Their voices melded together in a perfect harmony, with Jae's low and raspy tones and Younghyun's clear and sweet pitch. It was a perfect moment - just the two of them alone, for the first time in a while, with no one judging their every move or dictating their full day.

The two of them danced through the whole song, their hearts beat as one as it ended and Younghyun took a deep breath.

"I love you," he couldn't help but murmur the sweet words as his forehead rested on Jae's shoulder. The older smiled lightly.

"I love you too." He closed his eyes, dropping his head down to Younghyun's shoulder too and sighing.

"Boys!"

The shout came from the bottom of the stairs, shattering the beautiful moment like a vase. Jae breathed deeply and yelled back.

"Be down in a minute!"

He glanced at Younghyun, who still looked tired. The sleepiness in his eyes was too cute, and Jae couldn't help but grin.

"Come on, Bri. We've got to go or Avery's gonna be a nasty little fireball."

Younghyun smiled faintly at the remark but nodded, pulling away from Jae to go and get ready. He stumbled over to a pile of his own clothes, pulling out a hoodie and some jeans and throwing them on. He yawned, stretching his arms above his head and arching his back.

Jae grinned, "I'll be downstairs."

Younghyun nodded in acknowledgement and made his way to the bathroom. He heard Jae's footsteps crash down the stairs and be met with a cheery little voice. Younghyun smiled around his toothbrush, and it lingered on his face long after he'd made his way downstairs.
