Chapter Twenty Two

                                    

                                          
No One's P.O.V 
                          
Tessa woke up in, still in a hospital bed. She had this strange feeling that she was being watched but Steve was asleep and Tony wasn't in the room, he probably went to get coffee or something... Tessa glanced over to the door and there was a man standing there, as soon as she noticed him he disappeared... She looked away from the door and he was now standing right beside the bed "I'm gonna close my eyes and you're gonna go away" Tessa said quietly laying her head back and closing her eyes. A few minutes later she heard someone come into to room "Tessa?" She heard Tony say in a questioning tone "Shhhh" Tessa responded "Why?" He asked "Because there was a man..." She replied "Where?" Tony asked "By the bed" She answered "He isn't there now" Tony whispered. Tessa slowly opened her eyes, relieved to see that the man was no longer there... 
                          
Shortly after Tony got back Dr. Strange came back in with a nurse "Good morning" Strange smiled "Nurse Valerie is going to check your vitals and then we're gonna take you back and do a brain scan and then I'm gonna come back and ask you a few more questions and depending on how that goes you'll either be heading home or staying here a little longer" Strange said to Tessa, he then turned to Tony "We're not gonna put her on any meds until we figure out what exactly is going on and if the voices go away and the hallucinations stop then we won't worry about it but if they progress then we will have to put her on meds... I also noticed on her medical record that's she suffers with sleep paralysis, how often do her episodes happen?" Strange asked "Not a lot anymore but when it happens they are usually pretty intense" Tessa answered for Tony "It normal happens because, one, I have a shitty sleep schedule and two, rapid eye movement... I know all about why I have sleep paralysis and yeah I'm afraid to go to sleep because of it which is probably where the hallucinations and voices are coming from... All I need is to get back on a normal sleep schedule and I'll be fine... I would like to go home now" Tessa said "I'll see what I can do but I still have to do a brain scan" Strange said politely "Well then let's go" She said standing up "You're the most cooperative psych patient we've had" The nurse pointed out "Because there's nothing fucking wrong with me" Tessa glared "Tess, calm down" Tony said "Sorry" She said quietly... 
                          
Strange took the restraints off Tessa and led her to the room where they did the brain scans. He then had her transferred back into a normal room and away from the psych ward... 
                          
A couple hours had passed and they finally got the results back... "Everything looks good. You seem fine now so we're gonna skip the question. I'm gonna refer you to a therapist and I'm gonna give you some pills that should help you sleep a little better at night and help you get in a routine of going to sleep at the same time but you have to take these at the same time every night. It takes them roughly 30 to 45 minutes or start working so take then anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour before you go to bed. After a couple weeks I want you to start taking them every other night and then over time kinda wean yourself off of them" Strange explained "Okay... Can I go home now?" Tessa asked "Yes... You can go home now" Strange smiled and left the room... "Come on, get me the hell out of here" Tessa said looking over to Steve and Tony...

Steve's P.O.V
                          
Once we got home Tessa laid down on the couch and almost immediately started arguing with Sean "Elizabeth and Howard! That is enough!' Tony snapped. Tony snapping at the kids is odd and something none of us are used to and hopefully will never have to get used to "Tony, why don't you go upstairs and get some rest?" I suggested "I'm fine" Tony sighed "I wasn't asking" I stated "Will you go with me?" He asked "If it means you're getting rest then yes" I replied. Tony and I made our way upstairs, I turned back to the kids and mouthed "Be good", they all nodded and sat quietly and watched TV... 
                          
*Short Time Skip* 
                          
Tony's P.O.V 
                          
"Hey Tony" Steve said quietly "Yeah?" I asked "You think we should watch the camera footage from the stairs?" Steve asked "Why?" I asked "What color are Tessa's eyes?" Steve asked "Usually green" I replied, Steve nodded "Yeah her eyes were bright blue" He stated "Maybe-" I started "Tessa hates contacts, she says they hurt her eyes" Steve said before I could finish. "Well, look tomorrow" I said rolling over on my left side, pushing my back against Steve's chest "She did seem a little off though" I said trying to keep my eyes open
                          
*Time Skip* 
                          
Peter's P.O.V 
                          
I woke up to my phone ringing. I rolled over to look at the clock and it was 12:30am I sighed and looked at my phone to see Tessa calling me... 
                          
(P) "Hey Babe"
(T) "Hey, I'm coming over I need to talk to you"
(P) "Oh uh can I ask what you need to talk about?"
(T) "I'd rather talk in person"
(P) "Oh okay... Where are you?"
(T) "I just left Stark Tower"
(P) "Okay well I'll see you when you get here then... Lov-"
*Beep*
                          
"Oh... Okay" I said quietly, laying my phone back on my nightstand... 
                          
Steve's P.O.V 
                          
Tony and I woke up to a mission alert... "Jarvis. Shut the alert off and have everyone meet in the conference room including the kids... What's the mission?" Tony said "Miss Tessa has left the building and shut off all of the security systems and has sent out location but I can't see where she sent it" Jarvis explained... 
                          
*In the conference room* 
                          
"Okay, Tessa has left and sent out our location... Sean, I need you to shut everything down as quickly as possible. Luna you know your sister than anyone else, figure where she may be going, everyone else-" I started "Everyone else find my real daughter... That was most definitely not Tessa... She would never do anything like that" Tony interrupted "Jarvis, can you send Tessa's location to my phone?" Luna asked "Does anyone know if she was upset?" She asked "No, other than her little episode she was fine" Tony replied "Her Journal may say something... If she left it here then we could maybe find something" Clint stated "She never goes anywhere without that... She had Steve grab it before we took her to the hospital" Tony replied "When she leaves the first place she goes it usually Peter's so maybe we should check there" Bucky said tiredly "Yes!" Tony clapped "I like that idea" He announced, trying to keep himself distracted as the panic settled in "Tony, sit down please and breathe" I said walking over to him "I'm fine" He retorted, I pulled a chair out and Tony looked at me and pushed the chair back in and leaned into my chest, he was shaking uncontrollably "Everyone go suit up. Luna and Sean stay in the lab until we get back and someone get ahold of Peter" I said, wrapping my arms around Tony... "Jarvis, lock the door" I said after everyone had left "Babe, you need to calm down... You're no good to Tessa if your here having a panic attack. I get that you're worried but you need to stay strong, especially if this really isn't Tessa... If this isn't Tessa then we need to find our Tessa" I said, rubbing Tony's back. I heard Tony snuff a couple time and the he lifted his head "Let's get our baby back" Tony smiled through tears... 
                          
Peter's P.O.V 
                          
I sat there dumbfounded after Tessa had left... "Peter... You Aalright?" I heard Aunt May ask "She... Tessa just broke up with me" I said quietly "What?" Aunt May asked "She just... I don't even know" I replied. My phone started ringing, causing me to jump out of my skin... It was Luna... 
                          
(P) "Hello"
(L) "Hey, have you seen Tessa?"
(P) "Unfortunately yes"
(L) "Did you notice anything off about her?" 
(P) "Well, she broke up with me and it didn't even bother her"
(L) "She what?!"
(P) "Yeah..."
(L) "Peter... That's not Tessa... Did you notice anything different about her image?"
(P) "Her eyes were blue but she said they were contacts"
(L) "Pete, she hates contacts... That isn't our Tessa..."
(P) "Elaborate please"
(L) "I can't really at the moment but as soon as I figure something out I'll let you know"
(P) "Okay... Thanks"
*Beep* 
                          
"I'm skipping school, Tess is in trouble and I'm going over to the tower" I said to Aunt May "Okay... Be careful and no you're not joining the team to find her, you're staying at the tower with Sean and Luna" Aunt May replied "Yes ma'am" I said, walking out the door...
