If there was anything he hated more than eggplants and onions, it was getting confronted by an annoyed Seungmin. Honestly, it's as if you're a guilty criminal being interrogated at a police station and he goes as far as dimming the lights, using the tip of his wand as the only source of light, Seungmin shoves it to Hyunjin's face.
"Where were you?" he bursts.
"Wait no, wrong question because actually, where have you been lately?" the younger questions, scoffing a little at his friend's attitude.
The two of them are inside their dorm room, the other two occupants of the room being shooed out by Seungmin half an hour ago. Hyunjin feels like the room has never felt this small, like he's being closed in by a million questions that were about to be shot by Seungmin.
"I... I have been at school," Hyunjin answers carefully. "Obviously?"
Sure he was expecting Seungmin to roll his eyes, but he definitely didn't see a push on the forehead by the latter's finger coming his way.
"Yeah and I've been in Azkaban," he deadpans before crossing his arms across his chest.
"You weren't at the celebrations earlier," the younger continues, getting to his point fairly quickly, "even Lee Minho was there. When I asked him where you were he shrugged and I felt like I was left on seen on muggle phone!"
"Moreover you've been disappearing a lot lately, going out just seconds before the dorms close and yes Hwang Hyunjin I notice every fucking night you go out," Seungmin rambles on, not caring about his best friend's look of shame.
"You're my best friend yet I don't know where you are half the time," he chuckles, "Professor Longbottom even asked me where you were one time and why you never went to him anymore, it made me feel like an idiot when I said I didn't know and that I thought you were with him."
Sighing, Seungmin takes a seat on his bed across the room. "I don't even know what's on your mind these days," he says, "and I know you've been sick and been feeling under the weather but you never talk about it to me now and I'm just worried, I guess."
"I miss my best friend, you know?"
Guilt trips over Hyunjin and he clenches his jaw, recalling that indeed for the past few months, he's seen less and less of Seungmin. Now, this may seem normal for some people but Seungmin had always been almost attached to the hip with him ever since his first year. The last thing Hyunjin wanted was for his best friend to worry about him, and now that he is then, what should he do?
Telling Seungmin everything might worry him even more, right?
But Hyunjin shakes his head inwardly, bringing him into consciousness.
"Sorry," is all he says.
Seungmin snorts in amusement. "Sorry?" he echos, "sorry? Is that it?"
"Is sorry going to cut every night of me worrying about your whereabouts? Especially when Hogwarts is under tight supervision like this? It's dangerous out there and you go out at night knowing full well you can't go back in until the next morning."
