Paris, out

After they finally felt everything was in place as much as possible they went to have dinner with elphin pianist Sophie and some other guys.
They found themselves a lovely Thai restaurant and walked in.
¨Right¨, Brett said, ¨I'm just gonna order everything I fucking well want tonight. Shall we get a bottle of wine, as well?¨
After the day they had had, wine sounded like the best idea since sliced bread.
¨Absolutely bro, go for it!¨

The wine came soon and it was dry and crisp, just the way Eddy liked it.
He raised his glass to the rest of the table and said:
¨Here's to us, rocking a shitty venue!¨
Everyone laughed and chinked their glasses together.

It had been a while since Eddy had drunk alcohol and he hadn't eaten in hours, so he could feel the wine settling in his head straight away.
Oh, how lovely to let loose and not worry about anything!
They tucked into the food, which turned out to be the best they had had in Paris, a second bottle of wine was quickly ordered and the whole group got louder and happier and rowdier as the night went on.
Eddy found himself taking Brett's hand quite easily, the wine stopping him from remembering they were supposed to be just best friends.

¨Bro, seriously, you can't find your mouth? It's here!¨ Eddy joked, pointing at Brett's mouth with his left hand, as he automatically wiped away a bit of food on Brett's cheek with his right.
Across the table he caught Sophie looking at them with a curious little smile on her face.
Whoops. Busted. He giggled and smiled right back at her with a wink.

The food eaten and the third wine bottle empty, they decided to carry on the party at a nearby night club.
They walked the streets of Paris as a group, already pretty drunk. Eddy reminded himself not to get too drunk. He did have a concert to play tomorrow.

The nightclub was a bit grimy, but they were elated enough to not care about such details.
Eddy really wanted a Jägerbull, but he knew full well what a terrible idea that would be. It would be liquor on top of wine and no sleep that night. He was still just about sober enough to order another glass of wine instead, and ordered both Brett and himself some water as well.

Of course Brett didn't want any water, but Eddy looked at him severely and said:
¨You'll thank me in the morning¨.
Brett rolled his eyes and drank the water.
¨Wanna dance?¨ he asked.
Need he ask?
He was having a ball. Hey, maybe this day wasn't so bad after all.

Eddy really let loose on the dance floor. He loved to dance, even if he absolutely sucked at it. Brett was a party animal anyway, so when after a while the rest of the group retreated to their table he found himself dancing to the pounding beats with just Brett.
Oh, how he wanted to kiss Brett. But he really, really mustn't. Not in public.
Brett caught him looking and smiled wickedly at him.
¨I just need some air, will you join me?¨
¨Yeah, sure, bro.¨

They walked out and into the alley next to the club, where Brett pushed Eddy roughly against the wall and started kissed him passionately. Eddy groaned, and he felt the world around them disappear as he kissed him back.
Brett, his Brett, how he loved him. It was just them, together, in their little bubble, their wine-flavoured tongues dancing with each other.

¨Shit, we're outside¨. Eddy's foggy head suddenly remembered where they were and he broke away, panting, just as Sophie appeared from inside the night club. She was smiling sweetly.
¨Coming, boys? We're heading off.¨
Shit. She must definitely have seen what they'd been doing. They'd been idiots, kissing in public like that, and Eddy had no idea what would happen now. Yet, he couldn't bring himself to regret it.
He glanced at Brett, but he saw straight away that Brett was drunker than he was and was past caring.

Eddy touched Sophie's shoulder as she walked away and they followed.  She turned around to look at him.
¨Er, Sophie, I guess you saw that.  We... we aren't public, yet. Would you mind if we keep this between us for now?¨
¨Of course¨, she said with that little smile. ¨I wouldn't dream of saying anything.¨
