A tension filled week had passed since their argument and they were still not fully stable. Avoiding all meaningful conversation, they co-existed around the house mainly in silence unless they were fucking which happened a lot.
Carla couldn't understand why her body betrayed her in it's need for the cop. It didn't seem to matter how annoyed or cross she was, all Thea had to do was stroke her arm and the younger woman gave herself up completely.
A lot of the anger had passed but neither wanted to have the discussion which would effectively make or break them. A lot was at stake, tensions were high and the pair of them were suffering from cabin fever, it was a very volatile situation that neither of them wanted to deal with.
Sat in the only chair of the living room, Carla kept glancing upwards at Thea who had been doing sit ups for what felt like hours. A thin layer of sweat was building on her abs and the noises she was making sent signals straight to Carla's erogenous zones, distracting her from the book she was reading. With every movement the cop made a quiet grunting sound as she focused on her burning muscles, the pain distracting her from the deep set frustration she felt every time she looked at the younger woman.
Lying flat on the floor to catch her breath she closed her eyes and saw Carla's face. Not the scowl she'd seen recently but the seductive awe filled smile she used to use when they'd first met. Sighing, she heaved her body off the floor and went into the kitchen to grab a cold bottled water.
The cool water engulfed her throat, nearly choking her when she felt Carla's hands on her hips stroking the bare skin above her shorts. Turning around the younger woman kissed her forcefully making it clear she wanted more.
"I can't do this." The cop gained some distance and leant up against the fridge unable to make eye contact with the young woman.
"Can't do what? Sex?"
"The sex yeah. I want you, I fucking love you for Christ's sake but this is getting weird. I don't know what we're doing right now, we're like friends with benefits without the friends part."
"So we're not friends?"
"I don't know are we? Or is the only reason we're doing this because we can't leave?" She paused and put the lid on the bottle, trying desperately not to look at her because her natural beauty had such an effect. "You don't talk to me anymore."
"I'm sick of trying to get information out of you Thea, I don't talk to you because I want you to talk to me, even if it's just about something on TV or if you've had a nice snack! I feel like every conversation with you is a fight and it's not just because of our argument, you make it so difficult to get to know you, maybe it's because your a cop or because you've had some real shit in your life but I wouldn't know because you can't open up. I believe you were telling the truth about Jemal the other night and that terrifies me because you lost your cool so I probably flew off the handle but to be fair, I deserved to be unreasonable in that moment. You spent the beginning of our relationship lying to me about who you were so don't punish me if I don't instantly trust whatever comes out of your mouth."
Carla did some deep breathing after her unexpected rant and looked at the hurt expression she'd caused on the woman she loved, wishing she'd say something, anything!
"Please don't worry about Jemal, he is safe. The reason we don't even know about him is to keep him that way but what I can't get my head around is why. I trust Rob but I can't ask him because someone specifically didn't want us to know and I can't risk that being a problem without being sure of the consequences. I have to work out who's hiding it as soon as lockdown is over."
'Well ok, work related yes but at least she said something.'
Carla ran her hand through her hair and walked towards the cop while trying to respect her personal space. Thea was so sexy when she was in cop mode and the younger woman just wanted to touch her but didn't want to destroy the sparse communication.
