Within two weeks they were finally all moved in. Bailey had decorated every inch of the house. From the moment you walk in to the basement. They even set up a bar area/fire pit in their backyard.
It was the night that Bailey planned their housewarming party. Joe looked at Bucky half way through the night.
"You alright?" Joe said
"Yeah..she is just different tonight..actually she has been different throughout this whole process Joe.." Bucky said
"She acting like Trista?" Joe said
"Yeah..I was honestly surprised when she said she wanted to do this. I thought she wanted a small house to start out with. Not a house that has been dubbed our forever home." Bucky said
"Well James..she is just I think scared. You have to realize that Trista died at 35 after a car accident. And not to mention now with Bradley gone. She probably wants to make sure that has done everything." Joe said
"Yeah I guess.." Bucky said
Later on that evening after their parents left. It was just their group around the firepit. Natasha said "So we um have an announcement to make..not to rain on your party Bails..but me and Clint are having a baby..we are due in January.."
They all said their congratulations. Steve nodded to Wanda who smiled. "Well while we are at it..me and Steve finally got our appointment with the fertility specialist. So a baby Rogers will be happening soon we hope." Wanda said
More congratulations went around. "Anymore baby news?" Bucky said
"No.." Val said
Bucky kissed the side of Bailey's head. "We are all grown up.." Bailey said
"Yes we are baby." Bucky said
"Its not a baby announcement..but I do have something to tell you two..as well as the rest of the group." Sam said
"Yeah its not good.." Clint said
"What is it?" Bucky said
"The police department has been under investigation..for the past two months.." Scott said
"Why?" Bailey said
"Internal Affairs believe it was a inside job. The slugs they pulled from Bradley. They belonged to a police issued gun." Sam said
"What?" Bailey and Bucky said in unison.
"IA think that its a inside job..they only shot at Bradley. Nobody else was the target once he was down. They let the hostages go. So dont be surprised if they come asking you all questions..especially you two.." Sam said as he pointed to Bucky and Bailey.
They all shook their heads they couldnt believe what they just heard. A few days later Bailey and Bucky were making out in the kitchen as they made breakfast together. They heard someone knocking on their door.
"I got it gorgeous.." he said as he smacked her ass.
He opened the door. "Im looking for Corporal James Barnes and Ms Bailey Barnett.." Internal Affairs Detective Frank Ingram said as he flashed his badge.
"Come in..just give us a minute.." he said
Bucky kept her shirt pulled down as they went up their stairs. She pulled on some pants and he pulled on shirt. They came back downstairs and met the detectives in their living room.
"Im going to be blunt with you two..you two were the closest to Officer Bradley Barnett. So Im going to ask you..how would you describe his demeanor leading up to the robbery?" Frank said
"He was acting a little strange a month before..but we all thought he was just doing things as a precaution." Bucky said
"What do you mean?" Frank's partner Hank Baker said
"Well for starters..he called me and said he had questions for me. I work as a ICU/CCU nurse. He was asking me questions about being brain dead. After answered all of them he said that if that happened that I was to turn them off. I was confused cause engaged." Bailey said
"And one night he informed me and the boys that we were to be his pallbearers. And he moved back into our apartment claiming he and his fiancee were having problems.." Bucky said
"So besides all that he never did anything else.." Frank said
"Well our friend Pietro said that he updated his will that week as well." Bucky said
"Okay thank you both." Frank said
"Bailey baby go on and finish breakfast.." Bucky said
She went back into the kitchen. "Um..are you all really thinking this was a inside job?" Bucky said in a low tone.
"Mr Barnes..I know he was your best friend and all. But somebody targetted him that day. And Im not pointing any fingers till I have all the facts. But it looks suspicous. You all enjoy your Saturday.." Frank said as they walked out.
"Bradley what did you do?" He whispered as he went to kitchen.
