I was in the clinic waiting for House to come in for work. It's 10:00 and work started at 9:00. Finally I saw him walk through the doors.

"It's about time you came to work" I said to him

"I don't wanna work on our new case it's depressing" he replied fake pouting. We walked towards the elevator and got in.

"She's been averaging 18 hours of sleep a day since her admission."

"Clinical depression. Incredibly contagious. Every time I'm around one of them I get blue."

"It's not clinical depression."

"Great, you got it all figured out. You don't need me." We got out of the elevator

"Three ER doctors, two neurologists and a radiologist have all figured out what its not, we need to figure out what it IS."

"Well maybe if above mentioned doctors were interested in my opinion they would have asked for it."

"None of them are willing to subject themselves to you."

"No pain no gain." We walked into the office and House actually picked up the file and started reading along as I read test results

"The blood work showed no signs of inflammation, and no one can figure out what's actually the cause of--" I said

"Huh." Said House

"What?" I replied confused

"Husband described her as being unusually irritable recently." He looked up from the file

"And?" Said Chase who was busy making a coffee

"I didn't know it was possible for a woman to be "unusually" irritable." He said sarcastically glaring at me

"Nice try, but you're a misanthrope, not a misogynist." I said to him

"Could be a parasite" Said Foreman looking up from the file

"Doesn't matter, blood and c-sub smears show no sign of parasites." I Said

"Has to be a tumor then." Said House

"A tumor sitting directly on top of the brain stem? That three ER doctors, two neurologists, and a radiologist missed?" Said Taub

"Partridge in a pear tree missed it too. King and Taub redo the blood work and Foreman get a new MRI with 2 millimeter cuts through the mesodiencephalic." Said House and walked out of the office

"Why does he always need to walk out of the office dramatically like that?" Asked Chase

"No idea" I said and went to go do my job, Taub followed

"Wanna talk to the patient first?" I asked once we were walking down the hallway

"For what?" Replied Taub

"To take an accurate history"

"I already took a history"

"Yeah but nobody your handwriting looks like that of a second grader"

"Fine let's go"

I smiled and followed to Mrs: Campbell (the patient)'s room

"Hello Mr and Mrs: Campbell, My name is Dr. Kingston and this is Dr. Taub. We work for Dr. House, your attending" I said once we walked in

"Hello I'm Ed and this is my wife Elise" Said the patients husband

"Nice to meet you, were here to take a history" Said Taub

I looked at her file. It said she was experiencing shortness of breath.

"Anything else wrong beside the shortness of breath?" I asked her

"Not really, its actually just kind of a tightness." She replied

"You smoke?"

"No, never."

"Exercise?"

"Eight hours a day."

I looked at her confused

"I teach preschool." She explained

"Sounds fun. Any history of heart disease in your family?" I smiled and asked

"Not that I know of."

"Okay that's all we'll need right now" I smiled and left

We left the room and went to go run the blood tests. The results pointed to a tumour. We went to break the news.

We walked in. Elise was seeping one her bed.

"Any news?" Asked Ed as we walked in

"We ran some labs and the results point to a tumor" I replied

"A tumor?" He asked

"We don't know, we need to check just to be safe."

"They already checked for that."

"The previous MRI had a broader view."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Asked Ed clearly starting to worry about Elise's condition

"Some tumors are almost impossible to see unless we know exactly where to look." I replied

"That means it would be small, right?"

"Yes."

"So you'd be able to operate? Take it out?" He said with hope

"If it is a tumor, there are a variety of treatment options, but there are variables other than just size."

He sighed and turned around

"Do the tests" he said with a sigh

Time skip to after the MRI

we walked into Elise's room after running the MRI. The MRI showed no signs of a tumor so wec

There were no lesions and no mass effect that we could see.

"What does that mean?" Asked Elise

"It means we're still not sure what's causing your neurological problems."

"I know some thing are hard to cure, but what I just don't get is why it's taking so long to figure out what's wrong with her." He husband blurted out
