Carla gave them both a hug before they left and then wrapped her arms around her girlfriends waist.
"That was really nice, I didn't think I would but I enjoyed it."
"Well I really hope your going to enjoy what comes next." She replied, running her hand up the back of Carla's neck and into her hair.
"Woah slow down there. Your going to open that other bottle of wine and we are going to share it. I have a few questions."
"Christ! I knew I should never have left you two alone!"
"Come on, I'll reward you when I'm done. I get really dirty if I've been drinking." She held onto Thea's shirt and looked her up and down suggestively while biting her lip.
"Well in that case are you sure you want the wine? I think I've got some jäger somewhere." The cop pulled away and walked into the kitchen to fetch the alcohol, all the while contemplating what exactly she could mean by dirty. The things her mind conjured up excited her but she was dreading what Abigail could have possibly told her new girlfriend. Rob and his wife had been there through the best and the worst times of her adult life, they knew a lot of things about her that she didn't necessarily want Carla to know yet.
The glasses chimed together as she walked back into the lounge, her heart raced at the sight of her beautiful girlfriend led on the floor, her back up against the wall with her long legs in front of her as she waited for the cop to return.
Thea's eyes met hers and all she could think about was how beautiful she looked. There was nothing better than seeing her relaxed, smiling and casual, her natural make up enhanced her features but the cop knew she didn't need it.
The younger woman patted the floor in front of her, instructing Thea to sit opposite. This decision caused anxiety to flood the cop and she was horrified that the feeling was somewhat similar to the interrogation she had faced over Amy's murder.
"Don't look so frightened. I just want to talk to you, I don't want to know your every thought!"
"I find it easier to communicate physically." She leant in and tried to distract her girlfriend with soft kisses along her jawline.
"I know you do and your extremely skilled at it babe but I've just met your friends and I want to..." Carla trailed off trying to find the right word, Thea's kisses almost engulfing her completely when she felt the cop pull away and sigh.
"You want to debrief." The taller woman handed her the wine, winning the brightest smile from her girlfriend that she'd ever seen. "What did she tell you?"
"Not a lot really but just being here tonight with you guys made me curious."
"Okay." Thea gulped at her drink.
"Like what's the t-shirt? We were talking about us and she said I shouldn't worry about you freaking out because you survived the t-shirt?"
"Oh my god! I am going to destroy that dentist."
She felt Carla take her hand and run her thumb over the back of it, reassuringly staring into her eyes.
"Just drink your wine and tell me."
"You really want to know?"
Carla swallowed a dry lump in her throat and nodded.
"As you can probably tell I didn't keep much of our stuff after what happened but I did keep a few things. Amy used to wear this one t-shirt all the time."
"I don't get it."
"Oh Carla!" Thea exclaimed, annoyed she had to actually say it. "I don't know how you found it but that first night you stayed you wore it."
