Harry woke up the next morning with a slight hangover. Nothing a shower and some painkillers wouldn't fix. He wished it was that easy to fix him and Louis.
Just the thought of Louis made the butterflies appear and he laid in bed for a while remembering last night. It had been perfect. Louis was perfect. He didn't regret it at all. He just wished that he knew if Louis felt the same way. What if Louis regretted it?
Harry rubbed his eyes in frustration. Why was it so hard? It shouldn't be. He usually was quite confident, at least when it came to girls. But this was the first time he was in love, and he was in love with a boy.
He didn't care about gender. So, he wasn't straight. He didn't feel the need to label it. He didn't care if he was gay or bi or just Louisexual. The last thought made him snort out a burst of short laughter. Louisexual? That sounded stupid.
The issue wasn't his sexuality. He was fine with that. The issue was the fact that he was in love with his best friend and if he didn't feel the same way it would destroy their friendship. Things wouldn't go back to normal this time. They crossed a line.
He let out a big sigh before he got out of bed and went to the bathroom. He swallowed two painkillers before he jumped in the shower. He took his time.
When he finally got out of the shower and got dressed he looked at the time. The cellphone display showed 11.06. He couldn't hide in his bedroom any longer.
He dragged a hand through his curls and took a deep breath before he finally opened his bedroom door and stepped out. He went into the kitchen. It was empty. Louis was still in his room.
Harry took out a bowl and poured himself some cereals. He walked to the fridge and got the milk and headed back to the table. He heard a door open and embraced himself.
Louis stopped in the doorway. He kept his eyes on his shoes.
"I'm going out for a while. Don't wait up.""Okay? But Louis..."
Louis looked up and gave him a brief glance before he looked away again.
"Harry, please don't. Not now. I need time to...think. Okay?"
"Yeah, okay."
Louis turned and walk out of the apartment without another word and Harry watched him leave. The first tear started to roll down his cheek when he heard the front door close and soon he was sobbing without control. He laid down on the floor and held himself tight, curled up in a ball.
If Louis needed time to think it could only mean one thing. He regretted yesterday and needed a way to let Harry down easily.Harry spent the morning crying. He cried taking another shower and he cried getting dressed. Around lunchtime, he had calmed down enough to eat some leftovers for lunch. He spent a couple of hours in the living room staring blankly at the tv. He went to the kitchen and made some pasta for dinner. He could only force a couple of bites down. He hadn't heard a word from Louis. But he dreaded the talk they would have to have.
At seven there was still no sound from Louis and Harry feared he would go insane. He needed to talk to someone. He picked up the phone and called Zayn who answered right away.
"Hi, Harry."
"Hi, Zayn. I need someone to talk to." Harry mumbled, trying to keep it together.
"I'm all ears. What's happening?" Zayn's calm voice echoed through the phone.
"Okay, fuck, I don't know where to start really." Harry sighed.
"Just start from the beginning." Zayn suggested.
