'I'm having a party tonight, do you want to come?' Chris asked as we walked to the locker room.
'Yeah, sure.' I said, smiling.
It had been a day since my argument with Ruby, Rachel and... Mostly Emily.
He gave me directions to his house, then left. That evening I found myself walking into his house. I was a bit early although there were a few people there. Including... Emily, Ruby and Rachel.
'Hey! Want a drink?' Chris greeted me.
'Hi.' I said, happy to see him, and declined the drink.
I turned around to see that Ruby was giving me glares.
'Nice.' I said.
'What?' Chris asked.
'Nothing.'
'Is there a bathroom I can use?' I asked. I needed to get away from the girls.
'Yep. Through the guest room-the first room on the left when you get upstairs-an en suite. The door doesn't really lock so I'll come and guard it for you.' I thanked him and made my way upstairs. He followed me.After splashing some water on my face and washing my hands I walked out.
'Thanks!' I said and walked out to see him sitting on the bed waiting dutifully.
'Since we are in private now. Please tell me what you meant a while ago when you were talking about not telling Lucas something. It's really bugging me.' Chris pleaded.
'Okay. But you won't tell anyone.' It was more like a demand. I sat down beside him. And I told him everything. I told him how we planned to break Lucas' heart as he had done so for my three friends, and how it was their revenge.
'Oh I see. That's deep. You've dug yourself a hole. And I can tell you it won't work. But it's sweet that you are willing to do something that isn't anything to do with you, but especially for them. You must be a really good friend.' Chris looked right into my eyes.
'Yes. But now I've ruined everything. They don't want to be friends with me anymore.' I said sadly.
'I'm sure they do. Who wouldn't? You're honestly one of the nicest people I've met.' He took a bit of hair that had hung over my face and tucked it behind my ear. And I really thought that he was going to kiss me. We were so close. A few inches were between our heads. He stared at me intently. I couldn't breathe. I almost closed my eyes but held his gaze as he leaned in, but then he suddenly stopped.
'We shouldn't. It wouldn't be fair. You may not be Lucas' girlfriend, but he thinks you are.' Chris stated and pulled away, sighing.
'Thank you. For stopping.' I said as I held his hazel gaze. He stood up.
'I should go down and welcome people. Want to come?' He asked me.
'I think I'll just stay here a little longer. I'll be down in a minute.' I said, sighing. As soon as he was gone I lay on the bed, just thinking.
At least I knew that he liked me.
But I was in an even greater mess than previously. This was more than complicated. I would have to talk to the girls tomorrow. I couldn't avoid them forever.
Everything needed to be sorted out.************************************
Hey!
This was an interesting chapter to write. No inspiration in particular, but I just felt like a little romance makes every story more exciting! What do you think about Chris and Anna? Or do you prefer Lucas and Anna? Also who do you think Emily should pair up with from previous chapters? Josh possibly?! Please give me feedback and comment and vote :)
