| four: confession |

Tension was high as the couple sat on Charlotte's childhood bed. The girl was twiddling her thumbs, glancing around the old styled room, too nervous to look at Noah. After a bit of uncomfortable silence, the boy decided to speak. "So, can you explain?" Noah turned his head towards the girl he's come to love. Charlotte shook her head. "There's nothing much to explain," she began. "I discovered I was bisexual when I was fourteen, came out to my parents at fifteen."

Noah got up from the mattress and paced in front of Charlotte. "Why?" He asked. "Why would you choose to be something so disgusting?" Charlotte glanced up at him with an angry expression. "Excuse me?" She got up to stand face to face with her boyfriend. "My sexuality is not my choice."

"You expect me to believe that you were born knowing you're bisexual?" Noah scoffed. "Gays are disgusting and you're making a big mistake by choosing to be one." At his remark, Charlotte punched him in the arm. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She exclaimed, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

Noah took a few steps away from Charlotte. "If that's the life you choose, I can no longer be with you." He said. Charlotte shook her head. "If you can't accept me for being who I am, fine. I guess we can't be together." Wiping the tears that had fallen down her face, Charlotte walked out of her room and down the stairs with Noah following.

Upon opening the backyard door, Doris and Edmund turned to see the couple and approached them. "Noah's going to go," Charlotte informed. Edmund noticed the dried tears on his daughter's face, deciding not to comment on them but instead put his hand out. "It was nice seeing you again, Son." Noah tightly smiled and shook the man's hand, giving him a nod, "You too, Sir." Doris sadly smiled and embraced the boy in a hug. "Thank you for joining us today, Noah. Your company was greatly appreciated."

Charlotte smiled small at her parents and led Noah back through the house into the front yard. Walking to his car, Charlotte can only think about how fast things became disastrous. "So this is it?" She spoke up and asked. "You don't want to talk and figure this out?" Noah opened his car door and looked at his now ex-girlfriend. "You can come by to get your things out of my apartment tomorrow."

Stepping back in shock, Charlotte covered her mouth as more tears fell from her eyes. Noah closed his front door, turned the car on and drove off, leaving Charlotte to cry on the side of the road.
