That was his father, Master Splinter. I knew that from all the stories and drawings Mikey left in my notebooks. That did not help my nerves at all, being as Mikey had said he would never have known I was here. Not that I didn't want to meet the silly guy's dad... I just wanted to hold off as long as I possibly could, and apparently that was now."What is going on in here?"
"Uhhhhh... it's not what it looks like." Mikey spoke. The rat rose an eyebrow.
"And please explain, what might you think this looks like, Michelangelo?" The turtle's blue eyes glanced around.
"Uhhh...." He then waved his arms. "This is But a dream- a dreeeaaammmm- and you're sleepiiinnggg- go back to sleeeepppp-"
"Michelangelo!"
"Um, yeah?"
"Who is this human you have brought into our home?" The mutant began his walk my direction, and in fear, I'd began walking backward. Once Splinter noticed this, he stopped. I found it hard to read his lips.
"My child, I mean you no harm." Mikey spring into action at this, quickly moving to my side.
"Sensei, this is my bestest friend (y/n). She's a friend I made on the surface, and she's deaf." Splinter took note, slowly nodding. His next words were spoke carefully.
"And how did you encounter my son?"
"We met through Murakami. He's like family to me. Mikey walked in to get some food at closing and I just so happened to be there doing the same." I smiled at Splinter's pleasant reaction to my story.
"Ah, yes, Mr. Murakami has been very kind to us all. I'm happy that you are close to a friend of ours."
"Me too." I smiled up at the being. Me too.
I wasn't nearly as nervous now. Master Splinter continued to talk. I took interest in what he spoke, and he took interest in whatever it was that I said. He found it mind blowing how I lived on the surface and didn't know half of the things that his boys knew about humans. Then again, he understood.Michelangelo slowly left the room to find some sort of entertainment, and though he'd been pacing behind me before, I hadn't noticed when he left. I laughed at something Splinter said, and he grinned to himself.
I thought life was just getting good... but it just got a whole lot better.
