Again, Typos?
Leo skidded around the corner of the dojo, eyes so wide I'm sure that bowling balls couldn't compare to them. His blue eyes darted about the room, and once they found his father, an audible gasp was heard. His eyes caught sight of me, and then his father. He quickly bowed in respect and ran forward, tugging me behind him.
"AH! Master Splinter, look, I can explain!"
The rat, now named Master Splinter, nodded. I think he wanted to hear the panicked response Leo had to give him. "Please do, my son." Leo was shocked at this, and I watched in curiosity as he fumbled and stuttered to find an exclamation. I knew I wasn't supposed to be down here, which meant that Leo probably wasn't supposed to be on the surface tonight. We were both about to get into some major trouble. I watched as Splinter got more irritated by Leo's stutters. "Enough! Leonardo, explain to me why you have brought a human into our home."
The staff hit the floor with a loud click that echoed off the surrounding walls. I nervously smiled and began backing up, now feeling the chills running up my back. "Yeah, um, I think I'll just wait outside...or go home, however fast I can run without anyone chasing me." A pair of brown eyes turned to me, but Leo stayed turned toward the being before him.
"No, (y/n), you will stay here." Splinter looked to me, those same sharp eyes making me uneasy. I could feel fear, but smiled it away. I laughed, not knowing what else to do.
"Hey, uh, I've got a question." I smiled this time, not as nervous as I was. Splinter eyed me strangely. "Where do animals go when their tails fall off?" Silence, but this time Leo's head turned. He gave me a "please, not now" look. I grinned. "The retail store!" I busted out laughing, and now that one joke fell from my mouth, many other began to follow it.
"Oh! And get this one! Why can't you trust trees?" Silence. "Because they're shady!"
"What do you call a cow in an earthquake? A milkshake! Get it?"
"My boss told me to have a good day...and so I went home!"
"Y'know, my friend David lost his ID...so now we call him DAV!"
"Why doesn't Pac-Man use Twitter?" I could see eyebrows twitching now, and Leo looked to Splinter with a look of embarrassment. "Because he doesn't like being followed!!" My laugh continued onward, getting sharper and shorter as I went. When I looked back up, Master Splinter had what looked to be a slight amused grin on his face. I smiled, watching Leonardo's look of horror as the rat smiled.
"Okay, okay, I think I'm done now," I finished my laughing with a wave of my hand. "Whew!"
"My son, I would have never imagined you would bring such personality to our home."
"Dad, I can explain- she's really a good person-"
"He's your dad?!" I yelled. "WOW! I didn't realize that! I was waiting for a huge old turtle to appear out of nowhere!" Leo face palmed as I stuck my hand out to greet his father. "It's so very nice to meet you! Um, because you're Leo's dad and all, if you wanted to call me by (y/n/n), I'm tooottaaallllyyyy cool with it. Did I mention your ears looked soft?"
The mutant took my hand and shook it, a mannerly demeanor taking over. "Ah, yes, and you may call me Splinter."
"I really like that name. It suits you." I blinked, then laughed. "And it's awesome to meet you. Can I ask some questions?" I watched as Splinter's ears folded back, yet he offered his patience. He went to speak, however, Leo had cut into the conversation.
"Actually! I think we should get going!"
"Wait!" Splinter shouted after his son, who was now pushing me towards the dojo doors. "(Y/n), you must promise to keep our existence a secret, no matter the circumstance. Can you do that?"
"No problemo my dude. I got you, nice dojo by the way- it almost looks like one that I've been to before, just a little more cozy. I love it." The mutant nodded in thanks and allowed his son to push me out of the room. Leo released a stressful huff once we were out of earshot.
"Did I do okay?"
"You're lucky we are friends. He could have easily killed you, and I could have done the same." The leader sighed, but then smiled when he saw me frowning. I hadn't realized what I said made the situation worse. "You did good. I think he took it okay...for what it was. He didn't punish me."
"Ohhh so I did good? Did I do great? Ah, now I have to know!"
"Yes, yes, you did amazing. Happy?"
I jumped up and hugged Leo as tight as I could. "Very."
Once I let go of him, silence seized the air again.
"Sooooo what now?" He asked.
"We could always watch some TV...?"
"I'm down." I followed after Leo as he lead me to the couch, but I still had one thing on my mind. "So your dad, did he like... give birth to you and all your brothers all at once oorrr?"
