It was finally the night of the Yule Ball and despite everything that had happened during the past weeks, I was very excited to go.
Fred and George had talked it out, kind of. It wasn't the same as before, but as George said, Fred kind of understood, even though he wasn't going to admit it.
Angelina was curling my last strand of hair, while I put on some sparkly earrings.
"You're going to steal the show tonight, Y/N", she said as she admired my look in the mirror.
"You don't look half bad yourself", I said and twirled her around. She looked gorgeous. Fred would not be able to keep his eyes off of her. Alicia came in as well and we took a photo together.
"Are you guys ready?" I asked and we all went down. I was nervous out of my mind. I'm not really sure why, I guess it was mainly excitement. I took a deep breath and followed the girls down to the common room.
FRED'S POV
"Oh Merlin", I mumbled. The girls were coming down to the common room and I had a hard time to keep myself together. She looked gorgeous. I mean, sure, Angelina looked pretty too, but Y/N was absolutely breathtaking. Her hair was in curls that fell effortlessly down her shoulders and the dress she had on was so perfect for her. Her eyes twinkled and she had that cute smile on her lips that she'd always show when she was being complimented. She was so pretty.
She briefly looked at me when her eyes scanned the room, but she wasn't looking for me. Instead, her eyes fell on my other half as she walked over to him.
"Don't you look dashing", she told George, who complimented her back and took her arm. That was supposed to be me. I felt uneasy, watching the scene, as if I was about to be sick. It was all my fault.
"Thank you Fred, you look handsome too."
I looked up and Angelina was looking at me annoyed, her arms crossed.
"I'm sorry, you look really pretty", I said and forced myself to get my thoughts away from Y/N. She was not my date and that was my own fault.
"Let's go", I said with a smile and took her arm as we made our way over to the Great Hall.
YOUR POV
Despite the slight sting I felt when seeing Fred dance with Angelina, I had a great time. The Great Hall was decorated beautifully and George was a really great date actually. It was a night of friendship. I danced with pretty much everyone, even little Neville, who was very excited when I asked him. He was adorable, yet he should really start finding a crush his age.
"I'm going to talk to 'Mione, I'll be back soon, okay?" I said and George nodded. Hermione had just parted Krum's side for the first time this evening and I was dying to know the details. She was talking to Ron and Harry and it seemed rather uncomfortable.
"You okay?" I asked and she looked annoyed.
"Let's get away from these baboons", she said and pulled me to the side.
"They can be so annoying sometimes", she said and crossed her arms. She looked gorgeous.
"They're just jealous that they couldn't score a date as beautiful as you", I said and admired her dress. She blushed slightly. "So, tell me everything about Krum!" I added and her face got even more red.
GEORGE'S POV
"Come on man, just ask her to dance", I said and nudged Fred's side. I could see that he was having a mediocre night. He was pale and had barely smiled at all, which was very unlike him. It hurt him to see Y/N dance with everyone but him. I couldn't blame her. I knew she'd say yes if he asked her, but he had to man up and do so.
