A Whale of a Time

                                    

                                          
Sonic, Collin, and Tails were sitting in a small red boat out in the ocean, trying their luck at deep sea fishing. The boat was named "Lady Liberty", as Collin had made it and he had chosen the name from an ancient book on Overlanders he once found. Collin tended to make things out of habit. He always said he had no idea where he got the know-how to build things, but he simply loved to see what happened when he tinkered.
                          
"We haven't been fishing since that whole Jaws incident, huh, Cousin Collin?" Sonic asked as he tried to remember.
                          
Collin grimaced. "Yes, well... I figured a boat might be safer than an old dock..." He knew it sounded stupid, but he didn't want to ruin their fun with his logic. 
                          
"Yeah, and it's way more fun!" Tails said excitedly.
                          
The trio weren't aware that there was a submarine nearby, spying on them. In this submarine, Robotnik and Crabmeat were spying on the trio of Freedom Fighters. "Ah, look, Crabmeat. Those happy-go-lucky Freedom Fighters are on a fishing trip."
                          
"Hehe, yeah, and they're the bait!" Crabmeat went over to some of the computers and started to activate things. "We're all ready for our attack, your lard-ship!"
                          
"Good, let's give them a whale of a time!"
                          
Back with our fishing crew...
                          
Tails was reeling in his fish! It was pretty big. "Wowie! Look, Sonic! Look Uncle Collin! I caught one!"
                          
Sonic grinned, "Way cool, li'l dude!"
                          
"Hehe, very good, Tails! That's the biggest I've seen in a long time." Collin smiled at the boys' excitement. Suddenly Sonic's line was pulling hard. "WHOA! I think Sonic's is going to beat it!" Collin's eyes widened as he held onto the edge of the boat.
                          
"It's a big one!" Tails gulped as he too held onto the boat.
                          
"It sure is a whopper!" Sonic pulled, and with a large SPLOOOOOOSH! out of the water came a gigantic metal whale! "What the! It's a Whale?!"
                          
"Whale it isn't Moby!" Tails lost his pole, and his fish, in shock as the whale opened up to swallow them.
                          
"I wonder if Pinocchio's home..." Collin grumbled as he tried to figure a way out of their predicament.
                          
Robotnik was steering, leering out from one of the eyes as his victims were slowly swallowed by the whale. "Hehe, now this is a fishing trip! Next time I'll have to take Junior along!" He chuckled evilly. "And this is the last fishing trip those blasted Freedom Fighters will go on. Bon voyage!"
                          
Collin suddenly had an idea as they were almost swallowed. "Sonic, take the oars, triple time!" He grabbed onto Tails and held him against the boat as Sonic did as instructed.
                          
"Whale you don't have to tell me twice!"
                          
With a FWOOSH! Sonic managed to speed them out just in time! Tails managed to look up as the whale started to chase them. "I don't think he's done with us! Better speed up!"
                          
"Yeah, Oar else we're fish food!"
                          
"SONIC, THE ROCKS!" Collin gulped as they flew over the rocks and into the air, the whale still chasing them!
                          
"Let's see if this guy knows how to jump!"
                          
With a large CHUNK! And a PLLLOOOOOOOOMMMMFFFFF! The whale robot crashed, with Robotnik heaving out of the pilot window that had been one of the eyes.
                          
Sonic just laughed as Collin and Tails got out of the boat. "Whale look-y what I caught!"
                          
Robotnik and Crabmeat ran off, cursing Sonic's name. Collin merely rolled his eyes while Tails grabbed the camera to take a picture of Sonic. "That was a Whale of a catch, Sonic!"
                          
"Thanks, Tails!"
                          
Collin smirked. "I doubt Whale top this fish tail anytime soon." Collin started to clean up after the group. 'One of these days, would it kill us to have a normal fishing trip?'
