DanielleWhen we arrived to my apartment, I felt ashamed. I didn't want Nate to come in and see the mess that was inside. Even from the outside, it was obvious that the building wasn't much.
"So this is it, huh?" Nate questioned as we entered the small apartment building.
"Uh," I started awkwardly. "Yeah."
He didn't say anything, instead just simply nodded. It was the silent the rest of the way up the stairs until we reached my apartment.
I was about to unlock the door when I stopped myself and spun around on my heels to face Nate.
"Do you mind if I just go in and clean up some first?" I blurted out awkwardly.
"Not a chance, you saw my apartment all dirty, now it's my turn." He grinned as he snatched the key out of my hand and unlocked the door himself.
I simply rolled my eyes in annoyance as Nate flung my door open and stepped inside.
"Okay I was not expecting this big of a mess Dani." He laughed as I stepped in behind him and closed the door, my ace heating up red out of embarrassment.
"Are you here to help or to make fun of me?" I challenged, trying not to laugh.
"This is gonna take all day." He sighed before throwing himself onto my couch, which was covered in clothes.
"You can fold those while you're there." I teased as I trudged toward my room. "I'm gonna go start on my room, be back in a year."
As I entered my room, I looked around and realized how little things I had. Most of the mess in my house was stuff that could be thrown away, because I didn't bring much here with me, other than clothes.
I let out a loud huff before going to my dresser and pulling out clothes, stuffing them in boxes that Nate and I had brought. I didn't have a lot, just what I needed and nothing more.
I then moved on to my closet, where there were a bit more clothes hanging up. Everything was going fine until I got to the last thing hanging. It was a grey hoodie.
Pulling the hoodie out, I began to examine it. I knew it was Nate's. I probably threw it way in the back long ago, attempting to forget. I never really wanted to forget him, just the pain that came with remembering him.
I knew I looked like an idiot, but I began to smile as a warm tear slipped out. It wasn't a sad tear, but a happy one. I found the man I'm in love with, and this time, I'm wasn't letting him go.
"Ehem," a beard a throat clear from behind me, causing me to snap my head in that direction.
It was Nate, of course. He looked concerned and confused.
"Hey," I greeted a little too quickly as I threw his sweatshirt behind my back. It was his favorite and he'd probably kill me if he knew I stole it for five years, if he didn't already.
"Why are you crying?" He questioned as he took a step towards me. "And what are you hiding?"
"Uh," I started, looking like an idiot as I had no answer to either of his questions. "I'm not crying, I just got something in my eye, and I'm not hiding anything, what are you talking about?"
I couldn't help but melt when Nate took another step towards me that got him so close that our faces were practically touching.
"Oh really?" He asked, making his voice all husky, and causing me to melt even more.
Before I could respond, Nate reached around me and snatched the sweatshirt out of my hands, pulling it into his view.
"This is mine." He whined as he examined the hoodie. "Where'd you get it?"
"Actually," I started as I ripped it out of his hands and threw it on. "It's mine and has been since you let me borrow it a long time ago."
"It's a good thing you're cute." He teased as he rolled his eyes and poked my nose, making me blush like crazy.
And then I realized something; as much as Nate's complimented me in my life and I'm not sure if I've ever complimented him. Instead I always kept those thoughts private and to myself, but maybe that was wrong of me. Did boys like to be complimented as well, or was that just weird?
Taking myself by surprise, I grabbed both of Nate's hands and looked him in the eyes.
"What?" He questioned with a chuckle as I continued to stare him.
"Ya know you have really beautiful eyes, right?" I asked more as a statement. "And that you're probably the most attractive guy I've ever laid eyes on?"
He didn't say anything, instead he began to blush like crazy and smile like an idiot. I'd never really seen this look on Nate, but it suited him. It was adorable. Maybe I needed to compliment him more often. Or maybe he was just laughing at my pathetic attempt at flirting.
Suddenly, I felt Nate's lip crash onto mine, interrupting my train of thoughts. Butterflies went crazy in my stomach and my head felt like it was going to explode out of happiness. He made me so happy.
The kiss was passionate, but not too long. When we pulled apart, Nate rested his forehead against mine.
"I'm so glad we found each other."

Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for reading, I hope this chapter wasn't too boring.

Thank you so much for being patient with me, I know it's irritating, especially when I keep making promises to not take so long and then I take even longer. I appreciate you all so much, you guys are the best❤️
Also, I published up a few chapters of Saving The Bad Boy that I had done, so it'd be awesome if you guys wanted to check that out on my profile😉❤️
