Prologue: Early Days (Part 1)

                                    

                                          
(No one's POV)
                          
Tai and Summer were sitting in their living room watching tv while listening to a 6 year old Yang, a 4 year old Ruby, and a 3 year old (Y/N) play in the rooms above them. However, their moment was interrupted when they suddenly heard a thud. They rushed upstairs and when they got there they saw Yang with her hair on fire and her eyes red and Ruby and (Y/N) on the ground. "Is everything okay up here?" Summer asks concerned. Suddenly, (Y/N) gets up excitedly. "Mommy! Daddy! Big Sisses unlock they'we sembwences!" (Y/N) says excitedly. "That's great girls!" Tai says hugging Ruby and Yang happily. "Let's go get some ice cream to celebrate!" Summer suggests leading everyone outside, but before (Y/N) can get outside the door shuts and locks leaving (Y/N) alone at home.
                          
(5 minutes later)
                          
Qrow was walking towards his friends Tai and Summer's house to surprise them with a visit after finishing a long mission, but when he knocked on the door there was no response so he assumed no one was home. Then from the inside he heard someone trying to turn the doorknob, but not succeeding so Qrow barges in the house knocking whoever was trying to open the door down. Qrow looks around and sees no one until he looks down and sees (Y/N). "Holy crap kid are you ok?" Qrow says rushing to (Y/N) seeing he has a bloody nose. "I'm fine." (Y/N) says groggily getting up. "What are you doing here by yourself? Where's everyone else?" Qrow asks confused. "Ruby and Yang unlock they sembwences then everyone go get ice cweam but they fogot me." (Y/N) says a bit sad. Qrow stands there for a moment processing what (Y/N) just told him. 'They left him here? They didn't come back for him? Why?' Qrow asks himself in his head. Qrow stands up and picks up (Y/N) before putting him on his shoulders. "Come on kid let's see if we can catch up to every one else." Qrow says with a smile. "ok Uncle Qwow." (Y/N) says cheerfully. Qrow starts walking outside to where he thinks everyone has gone.
                          
(4 minutes later)
                          
Qrow was walking through a small town in Patch to the ice cream parlor with (Y/N) on his shoulders when he suddenly hears (Y/N) start yelling. "Mommy, Daddy!" Qrow hears (Y/N) yell while seeing (Y/N) pointing. Qrow walks in the direction (Y/N) was pointing in and sure enough everyone was there. Qrow walks up to Summer and Tai before asking. "Forgot someone?" Tai and Summer look up from their ice cream and see Qrow with (Y/N) on his shoulders. "Hi mommy hi daddy!" (Y/N) says excitedly. Tai and Summer look at each other in shock and awe that they forgot their son. Summer gets up and picks (Y/N) up off of Qrow's shoulders before leading (Y/N) inside to let him pick a flavor. "So Tai, care to explain to me how you managed to forget your son?" Qrow asks as he pulls out his flask. "I... I don't know..." Tai responds feeling ashamed and guilty. "Well I know this isn't something I expected when I decided to come visit." Qrow says before opening his flask and taking a swig of what's inside. Eventually Summer and (Y/N) came back out and sat down with everyone and (Y/N) finished his ice cream before everyone decided to head home.

(Y/N) and Ruby were playing in the living room when suddenly Ruby knocks over a lamp. "It okay big sis just explain it an accident." (Y/N) suggests. Ruby nods then Summer runs in. "Is everything ok in here?" Summer asks before noticing the broken lamp. "What happened?" "Big sis accide-" "(Y/N) did it." Ruby says lying. Summer looks over at (Y/N) while (Y/N) looks at Ruby confused. "(Y/N) is this what happened?" Summer asks strictly. "No me and big sis pwaying then accidentawwy knocked id over." (Y/N) says trying to explain. "So you did knock it over?" Summer asks. (Y/N) shakes his head no, but Ruby blurts. "He's lying mommy! I saw him do it!" Summer slaps (Y/N) across the face knocking him to the floor. "Nobody likes a liar (Y/N)." Summer says coldly. before walking back into the kitchen. Ruby stares in shock as (Y/N) just sits there shocked before getting up and running to his room. (Y/N) just lays there on his bed in shock as Ruby tries to get him to open the door to no avail.

Today was (Y/N)'s birthday and to celebrate everyone was setting up a surprise party for him. Summer was handling the cake, Tai and Yang were decorating, and Ruby was keeping him distracted. Then they were all set up, so Summer called down Ruby then after a few moments they called down (Y/N). (Y/N) walks downstairs and sees no one is there and he's confused for a moment. Suddenly when (Y/N) is in front of the TV everyone pops out yelling "SURPRISE!" Everyone popping out scares (Y/N) so much that he ends up falling backwards and into the TV and the table holding it up, breaking both. (Y/N) tries to get up but is too hurt. Meanwhile everyone else is upset over (Y/N) breaking their stuff. "(Y/N) why the hell did you do that!" Tai yells angrily. "I-I didn't mean to d-daddy..." (Y/N) responds in fear. Tai ignores (Y/N) and punches him in the gut before sending him off to his room. Ruby and Yang look in shock before going up to their rooms not wanting to see anything else. Meanwhile downstairs Tai and Summer began to have a conversation. "That's it Tai I know we promised we'd try to raise him but I can hardly stand to look at him anymore." Summer says in an annoyed tone. "I know Summer we should have just aborted him." Tai responds. "What if we just have him do everything around here?" Summer suggests. "You mean make him into a slave?" Tai asks a bit confused as to what she means. "Yeah we could just have him clean, cook, you know just anything we don't wanna do." Summer explains. "Well I guess that'd make our lives easier." Tai responds.
                          
(1 year later (Y/N) POV)
                          
"AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE YOU LITTLE SHIT!" My dad yells as he throws me back in my room. I don't know what I ever did to them... they just randomly started hating me one day. They used to love me and treat me like a member of their family, but now all they treat me like is dirt. Yet after all of this, I still can't bring myself to hate them. "I just want my family back." I think to myself as I crawl over to my bed, which nowadays is just a mattress. Suddenly I hear a sound at my window and open it to see my Uncle Qrow fly in. "Uncle Qrow!" I whisper loudly as I hug him. "Hey kiddo... things looking any better?" he asks me rubbing my back. "No... they all still just treat me like garbage..." I say sadly. Uncle Qrow sits me down against the wall before sitting next to me. "I know you still care about them, but I seriously gotta get you outta here before things get too bad." he says. "I know... I really just wish they'd love me again..." I say on the verge of crying. "Me too bud. Well I gotta go make my return seem special tomorrow. Guess i'll see you then." Uncle Qrow says letting me know he's gotta leave. "Ok bye Uncle Qrow." I say as I wave him off as he climbs out my window and flies away. 'I really hope things get better here...' I think to myself as I drift off into sleep.
                          
(2 hours later No One's POV)
                          
It was the middle of the night and (Y/N) had accidentally left a stove burner on when he was cooking earlier and a small cloth object was next to the burner and it caught fire. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house. Summer and Tai quickly awoke and rushed out of bed to get Ruby and Yang and get them to safety. When everyone was outside Summer was taking a sigh of relief knowing her and Tai got everyone out in time. However Summer looked to her left and her right and noticed how everyone with her had a shocked expression, Ruby even had tears going down her face, so Summer turned around to face the burning house. When Summer turned to where eveyone was looking she immediately noticed (Y/N) looking at them in sadness and betrayal. Tears were painting his face and he started to scream and bang on the window. No one could move, as if they were paralyzed. Meanwhile a few feet away Qrow was running to the burning house to make sure everyone got out safely, yet when he got there he only saw Tai, Summer, Ruby, and Yang outside. Qrow searched for an opening in the burning building and quickly took it going inside to look for (Y/N). Qrow finally found (Y/N) crying on the ground in front of the window and grabbed him before jumping outside on the opposite end of the house as everyone else. "I gotcha kiddo..." Qrow says breathing quickly from what just happened. "They... they forgot me... I know they didn't love me, but they didn't even try to save me..." (Y/N) says before breaking down and crying more. Qrow hugs (Y/N) in an attempt to comfort him and (Y/N) hugs back soaking Qrow's shoulder before passing out. Qrow gets (Y/N) away from the burning house as help finally arrives on the other end of the house. "Don't worry kiddo... i'm gonna give you a better life... or at least i'll try to."
                          
So... hi i've never really written anything like this before and this is the first chapter. I've never really written something based on an already existing property and had it be on this scale... this is literately the longest chapter i've ever written. Anyways it could be a bit until another chapter comes out, but i'm happy with this one.
