At the fire station they had been working on the computers all day; documenting accidents, preparing for events and doing paperwork. It was pretty dry work and Taehyung couldn't wait for it to be over. He got changed out of his uniform into something more casual and comfortable. When his shift was over he smiled widely and was about to walk home, when a car beeped at him. It was a very nice car, a black Audi R8 to be exact, and Taehyung wondered who it belonged to. He didn't recognise the car, and so he walked over.

The person inside the car then rolled down the window and smiled at him.
"I've come to pick you up, get in." Jungkook said to a rather confused looking Taehyung. Tae got in the car and looked in wonder at the interior.
"Woah, nice car." He said, buckling himself in. Jungkook smiled and thanked him, before pulling out of the parking lot and driving into the city.

The drive was awkwardly silent, until Taehyung broke the ice.
"So... how are you then?" He asked Jungkook as he drove.
"I'm alright Thankyou. Being a policeman is hard work though. And I see you've become a firefighter! I thought you wanted to be a vet." He laughed. Taehyung blushed, his laugh was so cute.

"Yeah I changed my mind, but I love my job. Being a firefighter is tiring, and sometimes you see some really horrible things, but it is the most rewarding." Taehyung said. Jungkook just nodded, and Taehyung kept looking at his car.

"Look at you Jungkook with your fancy car! Are you like... rich now then?" Tae chuckled, suddenly changing the subject. Jungkook smirked a little.
"My job pays well, if that's what you mean." He replied. Taehyung giggled a little and they arrived at a car park; about a five minute walk from the cafe.

"So which cafe are we going to?" Tae asked curiously as they walked in the dim light of the sunset.
"There's a nice little cafe down here called Simjang. It's open until quite late and I know the owner of it." Jungkook said, smiling at the older. Taehyung looked so pretty in the evening light, and Jungkook couldn't help but stare at him. Tae noticed and Jungkook quickly snapped his head back to facing forwards, but Taehyung just smirked.

They arrived at the cafe and were greeted by a talk, dark haired man.
"Hello Jungkook-ah, welcome back! I haven't seen you in a while. Oh and you've brought a friend!" The man said, smiling at them both. Jungkook smiled.
"It's nice to see you again Jin. Taehyung, this is my friend Jin. He's like an older brother to me." Jungkook said, introducing them.

Tae smiled warmly and outstretched his hand to Jin, who took it happily.
"Nice to meet you." Taehyung said, and Jin then went back to behind the counter to take their orders. Jungkook offered to pay, and as much as Tae denied Jungkook insisted because he saved his life and it was the least he could do. The cafe was almost empty, with one or two people here and there, but it was pleasantly quiet. Once they had got their drinks they sat down by the window.

"Wow there's so much I want to tell you." Taehyung said, looking at Jungkook. Jungkook chuckled and sipped his latte, before sitting back and sighing.
"I never thought I'd see you again Tae. I'm very happy." He said, smiling. Taehyung blushed a little and fiddled with his fingers.
"It's a coincidence that I never thought would happen, but I'm so glad it did." Taehyung replied, giving Jungkook his box smile. His smile made his heart melt, and Jungkook hadn't felt so happy in ages.

Taehyung decided to change the subject and ask Kookie a question he was curious about.
"So, do you have a girlfriend?" Taehyung asked suddenly. Jungkook blushed a little and shook his head.
"Well, turns out... I'm gay." He replied with, and Taehyung was shocked.
"Join the club! Ah, so... any boyfriends?" He continued, and Jungkook again shook his head.
"Nope, I've still never been in a relationship. How about you?" He said, smiling slightly.

"You've never been in a relationship? I can't believe that for a second." Tae laughed, and Jungkook giggled a little. Taehyung continued.
"Nope, I'm single also. The last relationship I had was two years ago, and that didn't end well." Tae shrugged, sighing. Jungkook frowned.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"Nah it's chill, I'm kinda over it." Tae mumbled.
"Well off topic of boyfriends, what's your favourite clothing brand ?" Jungkook said randomly, and they chuckled at his unrelated query.

They chatted about their jobs and what they did when they left school and moved to the city. They found out so much about each other, but one night wasn't enough to say everything they wanted to say. At one point Taehyung went off telling some random funny stories.
"And then Jimin fell flat on his face. It was hilarious!" Tae laughed while recalling a memory. Jungkook smiled and giggled a little. He was generally a serious person, but Tae's positivity and adorableness just broke that.

They stared out of the window as they talked a little more. It was dark now, and the sky was scattered with stars. Taehyung glanced over at Jungkook, who was staring in wonder at the sky.
"Jungkookie?" Taehyung asked quietly. Jungkook never let anyone call him that, but decided Tae could be an exception.
"Mmhmm?" He hummed, still staring out of the window.
"I've missed you." Tae said sadly.

Jungkook now turned to him and frowned slightly, looking into the two dark orbs that stared back at him.
"I've missed you too Tae. Do you want to get out of here? We've finished after all." He replied, and Taehyung nodded in agreement. They said goodbye to Jin and promised that they'd be back to visit him, before walking down the road. They decided to head to a small park, just a few minutes away, to walk around together in the dark.

"Do you remember when we used to go on late walks after high school when you couldn't sleep?" Taehyung said to the younger, smiling at him. Jungkook smiled at the memories and walked a little closer to Tae.
"Yes. I've missed those times. It feels so good to do it again." He replied, glancing up at the beautiful moon which cast a sea of white light across the ground. They wandered and chatted for a while, getting to know each other more and more.

"I need to go on walks more often, work is really stressing me out." Jungkook sighed as he stood next to Taehyung, looking out at the park pond. Taehyung turned to him and frowned.
"It is? Well if you're ever stressed you can always talk to me. Nothing has changed. And I'm always up for going on a walk with you." Tae said, putting his hand on Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook could feel his cheeks burning up a little as he smiled.
"Thankyou Tae. And the same for you."

They decided to walk back to the car, laughing with each other as they did. They really enjoyed each other's company, and they had a nice evening. It was as if they'd never been apart. Tae asked Jungkook if he would drop him off at a 24/7 shop just down the road from his house because he needed to grab some stuff, and Jungkook agreed, but a little reluctantly. Jungkook stopped by the shop and Taehyung turned to him and smiled.

"Thankyou for tonight Kookie... Oops I mean Jungkook." Taehyung said, a little flustered. Jungkook had flinched a little at the nickname, but he just chuckled.
"It's okay you can call me that. Are you sure you don't want me to wait for you or walk with you? It's quite dark." Jungkook said seriously. Taehyung smiled and shook his head.

"No it's okay. I'm a big boy and I can look after myself." He chuckled, and Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Okay, if you're sure. We should meet up again soon, maybe you could come over?" Jungkook suggested as Tae got out of the car.
"I would love that. Goodbye Jungkook." Tae said, and waved him off.

After getting the stuff he needed out of the shop, Taehyung began to make his way home. He looked at his watch. 9:55pm. It was quite dark and the streets were quiet, and he wanted to get home quickly because it was rather cold. He was just a couple of minutes away from his apartment, when he swore he heard footsteps behind him.

He turned around and saw no one, and this sent a shiver down his spine. While he was walking he heard the footsteps again, and they were getting closer and closer, like they were following him. He tried to lose the person by snaking through some different paths, but they were still there. He now got a little scared, and quickened his pace into a run. He reached his house quickly and shut and locked the door behind himself.

His heart was beating very fast, and now he wished that he had walked with Jungkook. But he soon calmed down, telling himself that he was probably just hearing things, and that he was tired and needed to go to sleep. He got ready for bed. Tomorrow was the weekend, but he'd still have work. Sunday was generally his only day off, but they had a training day, so he wouldn't be able to rest. He fell asleep quickly under his warm sheets.
