"What are you doing?" she inquired, raising an eyebrow inquisitively with an expecting grin.
He cackled devilishly in response, his gleaming Cheshire eyes closing in happiness. "It's our anniversary, Bugaboo!" Chat Noir started, clutching her waist closer to him so he could rest his head on her shoulder. "What makes you think I'm going to tell you?"
Ladybug giggled, snuggling into his embrace. "I don't know—wishful thinking..." she mumbled, her mind disconnecting into blissful incompetence.
His cunning grin softened into a soft, happy smile. "I'm so glad I met you," he muttered as they sank to the secluded concrete roof.
She only moved to place her gloved hand gently on his warm cheek, saying, "I love you so much, Adrien." She closed the distance between them once again, their lips dancing together in a languid rhythm.
She tasted like cherries and smelled faintly of lilacs and baked goods, while he, on the other hand, reminded her of peppermint and freshly bought fabrics.
Chat sandwiched his clawed fingers carefully into the nape of her neck, fingering the neat raven locks into a disastrous mess (not that she really cared or seemed to notice at the moment).
When they separated, a breathy, animalistic purr that he wasn't quite able to smother rumbled in his chest. "I love you too, My Lady. Especially when you kiss me like that."
His joke, despite it being numbed by his flushed cheeks and goofy, lovesick grin, elicited a throaty laugh from her. Ladybug's teeth lightly grazed his neck momentarily before she untangled herself rather reluctantly, leaving behind a heaving mess on the ground beneath her. She stood at the edge, her now-hollow gaze trailing the city below them.
"When are we going to tell people about us, Marinette?" he asked, hushed, after he had (mostly) composed himself, brushing distractedly at the pebbles and dirt now on his shoulders.
She froze, stiff and unsure, but when she looked back at him, at her sincere, loving cat, she let her shoulders fall once more. "I-I don't know, Chat... It's just been so long, it almost seems out of place to bother doing it officially, you know?"
"But that's the thing," he said next, joining her by her side to snake his arms around her form once more, "it's been 4 whole years. We're in our twenties, Mari! If we aren't being honest with the people who look up to us, how do they know they can trust us?"
She briefly considered this for a moment, until she seemingly came to a conclusion and stepped toward the edge, unlacing her yo-yo. Placing a final smooch against his cheek, she said, "Bye, my love. I shall see you tonight."
"Goodbye, Princess," he half-called, deep in thought.

"Have you thought of what you're going to give Adrien yet?" Tikki asked excitedly, flying next to her chosen as she trundled through her disorganized apartment.
Marinette beamed, opening her closet and pulling out a dress, heaving it over her shoulder to land on the bed. "I know just the thing."
"Ooh, goodie! What is it?" Tikki bumbled, picking up the silver heels and the accessories. They sat the items next to the outfit.
"Well, I guess I can give you a hint," she teased as she began to get dressed. "It's something he's wanted for a very long time..."
"Uhm... to win at Ultimate Mecha Strike III?" Tikki suggested meekly, shrugging her shoulders.
Mari chuckled, remembering the countless hours they had spent when they were younger playing that game, with Adrien losing to no avail. "Nope."
"A croissant?"
