A loud siren rang through the entire school in the early hours of the next morning, waking every single student and teacher while causing the nocturnal students to turn their attention to it, their work forgotten beside them.
Y/n shot up as soon as it reached her ears, eyes bleary and hair dishevelled as she reached over a sleeping Namjoon and turned the light for his side of the room on. He groaned at the combination of the light and noise disturbing him and so did everyone else who fell asleep here after having dinner the night before. He turned towards her and tried to curl closer to her while squeezing his eyes shut. She shook him awake while managing to push half of his body off the bed before waking everyone else.
Then, the siren paused and a voice, who she managed to recognise as one of the head prefects' of the school, came through the speakers, "There is an attack on the school, all senior students to front court immediately. I repeat, there is an attack on the school, all senior students to the front court immediately."
"Wait, shit," Yoongi mumbled, rubbing his eyes as he stumbled out of the bed he shared with Jimin and tripped slightly after pulling his shoes on before heading out the dorm and towards the front court. The man he was sleeping beside just a few seconds then scrambled up before quickly stuffing his feet in his shoes and hurried after the god.
She began dragging everyone off their choice of rest - whether it be a bed or the couch - and onto the floor, throwing their shoes at them and yelling at them to get up. She glanced at Namjoon, his shoes in her hand as she approached and and tapped his shoulder, "Joonie, last chance before I pull you onto the floor and throw your shoes at your face. We need to get going."
"Wait - no - I'm up, I'm up," he climbed out of bed and she handed his shoes to him, turning and herding everyone out the door.
"Noona," Jungkook whined, "I want to sleep."
Right then, a loud roar thundered through the school and faint shouts and screams echoed into the air.
"Too bad, Kookie. As you can hear, the school's getting attacked, deal with that first then you can sleep." He groaned but obeyed, slowly but steadily dragging his feet to the court. The group sprinted over, immediately being spotted by Professor Sallow who then separated them and gave them their tasks.
"Taehyung, Jungkook and Hoseok help get the juniors, helpers and workers to the safe rooms. The rest of you, stay back and protect the school, don't let the creatures get past the boundaries we've set."
Y/n and Namjoon took purchase near the middle of the field with another two senior students that had been at the academy for awhile, but not as long as either of them. One of them glanced over and smiled, a pair of sharp fangs flashing at them as they greeted them with a noticeable Australian accent, "Good morning, Namjoon Sunbaenim."

"Good morning, Felix, how are you?" He replied, making casual conversation while scanning the field and examining the attacking creatures.
"Well, I'm doing fine, not sure about Noona though, she tripped on the way here." The other student - Dahyun - glared at him as her glittery wings twitched in annoyance behind her.

"Shut up, I was half-asleep."
"It was still pretty funny."
"Jeez, this was why Changbin didn't want to be near you," she grumbled as her wings fluttered, lifting her off the ground momentarily. She was obviously itching to get close to the creatures, to have a close-hand combat. Felix noticed and beckoned for her to follow as he started towards them, stating nonchalantly.
"He always wants to be near me, what are you saying?"
Dahyun scoffed, "This boy."
Y/n and Namjoon chuckled softly as the bickering pair headed away from them; a flash of white then caught her eye as she turned and gasped, throwing her hand up in defence and causing a bright and sharp tendril to shoot out from her palm and pierce the creature's wing. She felt Namjoon flinch when he heard the pained whine emerge from the Pegasus, moving slowly to crouch beside it as he reached out to trace the feathers of its wing, "Y/n, look," he pointed to the base of where the appendage sprouted from its body, "there's black veins visible throughout it. You know what that means?"
She tilted her head and frowned, "they're corrupted."
