important!a/n: So I hesitated putting this at the beginning of the chapter, but I don't know anyone's pasts or things some readers may have gone through and the end may be considered triggering to some people. If you don't want spoilers or to know the general sum of what is happening at the end, stop reading now. Warning: There will be the trauma of a miscarriage and heavy descriptions of blood. This will continue on until the end.

"ARTHUR," VICTORIA GRINNED AS SHE greeted her husband.

Arthur beamed back at her as she fell into step with him. "Victoria. How are you today?"

I'm pregnant. "I am well," she answered, twisting the ring resting on her finger. "How was your hunt for that beast?"

Arthur sighed. "We lost Sir Bedivere and didn't kill it."

Victoria frowned. "That's horrible. Next time, though."

"Yes, next time," Arthur leaned over her head and planted a kiss to it. "Which we need to go plan for."

"Oh, so you just don't rush out to battle with no thought," she joked, trying to lighten the atmosphere.

Arthur huffed a laugh. "Believe it or not, we actually do have plans."

He stopped and pulled her in front of him, smiling down at her with admiration.

"I know," she said. "If you forgot, I have been hunting quite a few times."

He laughed. "Hunting is nothing like taking down a beast."

Victoria shrugged. "Same prospect."

Arthur leaned down and gave her a peck on the lips.

"But it's a lot more dangerous than hunting," he mumbled.

Victoria rolled her eyes and pushed him away. "Go to your meeting with your knights or whatever."

Arthur guffawed as he walked back from her. "Or whatever? You make it sound like it's not important!"

As soon as Victoria walked into her chambers, where she had been painting a lot recently, Althea bombarded her.

"Did you tell him?" She asked, leaning up from where she had been reorganizing Victoria's paints.

Victoria groaned. "No..."

"Why not?"

"I don't know, Althea," she said, sitting on the small bed. "I have had every chance this month since I found out, but I just can't bring myself to do it."

"The more you hold off the more unexpected the truth will be," Althea told her.

"I know, I almost said it today in the middle of the hallway when he asked me how I was," Victoria laid back, hands going over her lower belly.
