(Y/N POV)

See the stars.

"Should we trust him?" I said, turning over onto my side.

Peter poked his head out from the bathroom, a tooth brush stuck in his mouth.

"Hometly, Shi dumt schnow," he said, still in the process of brushing his teeth.

"What?"

He disappeared from my view to spit out his toothpaste, and rinsed his mouth out. Once he had dried his face, he fumbled over towards the bed and climbed in next to me.

"Honestly, I don't know," he clarified, "we already know he's not lying about being from another world."

"But he's loki. The literal god of mischief."

"I wouldn't worry about it," he mumbled, "you'll be able to handle it."

"I couldn't handle Beck, Peter," I said, turning around to face him, "how am I supposed to take down Thanos?"

"Maybe you don't have too."

I sighed, and pressed my head farther down into the pillow. Everything was so stressful about this visit to Wakanda, and honestly, I wished I could turn it into a vacation.

"I'm going to take you somewhere tomorrow," Peter said, "maybe it will help you calm down."

"It's your birthday though, the day should be about you."

"I'm turning 19, there's no importance in that number."

"Peter, it's fine."

"No it's not. You've been doing nothing but taking care of me for the past week, so at least let me do something."

I closed my eyes and sighed, kicking pPter in the shin lightly, "stop being so stubborn."

He didn't say anything, so I bit my lip and stared back at him. I was in love with everything about him. His fluffy brown hair, his dark brown eyes, and his rosy cheeks.

"I'm so lucky to have you," I mumbled.

"I'd think of it the other way around," he said softly, "but thank you."

"I'm tired."

"Then go to sleep," he teased, pulling me into a hug.

I fell asleep on his chest, listening to the sound of a quiet city outside.

2:13 AM

Normally, I would be a heavy sleeper.

I sleep through fire alarms, the banging of pots and pans, and my father's incessant vacuuming every time he wanted to get on my nerves.

Yet today was different.

My eyes fluttered open, still heavy with drowsiness, my eyes scanning the room. A sly shadow slipped across the room, one that I recognized as Peter.

"Jesus," he whispered, banging his toe on my suitcase, "that freaking hurt."

I was tempted to say something to him, but curiosity got the better of me. I kept my head covered by blankets, peeking out of a small crack I had left open. The boy shuffled around in his pockets for something, which I discovered was his phone, and he soon vanished out of the room.

Once I heard the click of the door lock, I jumped out of the bed and slowly followed after him. The Royal Palace was surprisingly dark in the nighttime, all the lights shut off. Energy conservation was important in Wakanda.

I heard the soft thuds of Peter's feet up ahead, and I slid across the floor to catch up with him. I tried to figure out if I was still dreaming, but a simple pinch in the arm solved that question for me.

"Where the heck is he going?" I muttered to myself, trying not to trip over my own feet.

I followed him down a large staircase, through a winding turret of columns, and stopped when I saw a light streaming out from the end of the hallway.

I heard a familiar whir of machinery, and it didn't take a genius to guess where he had gone. I suspected it was the same laboratory he had gone to to get his surgery. Shuri's laboratory.

When I heard the princess' remarks about Peter earlier, I didn't really pay much heed to if she meant them. Calling someone cute was one thing, but meaning it was a different story.

I couldn't hear anything from where I stood, but I couldn't go any closer due to the glass windows.

"Ethan," I whispered into my watch, "enable audio."

"Yes Miss Stark," his voice rang loudly out into the space.

"Jeez, turn the volume down," I hushed angrily.

"Did you hear that?" Shuri's voice echoed out from my speaker, "you promise that she was sleeping?"

"Yeah," Peter said, "she was when I left."

"Good. Come here."

I heard an indistinguishable shuffle, and I narrowed my eyes. I felt sick, and I didn't even know what was happening.

"Woah," I heard Peter sigh, "that was crazy."

"You like it?"

"Hell yeah, my only problem is if Y/N finds out."

"And if she does?"

"She'll freak out. I'm freaking out right now, I'm not sure if this is a good idea anymore."

Oh my god.

My mouth was hanging open, fumbling for something to say. Five years. Five years and now he's going behind my back, messing around with a princess who he's known for less than a day.

I bit my lip, and stalked off back towards my room.

Oh, revenge will be sweet.
