"With the sense of incomparable joy that you have found emotional sanctuary for your heart, that you have discovered your life's true love, I now pronounce you married," the officiant announced. Everyone cheered as Axel took my face in his hands and kissed me.
I smiled into his kiss and felt my chest fill with joy and love for this man. When we separated, the noise surrounding us filtered back into my ears. Everyone was cheering and yelling, whistles sounding here and there.
Axel took my hand and I turned to Isi to grab my bouquet back before he led me back down the isle. We were followed by our wedding party full of our friends and siblings. My dress billowed behind me as we walked. It was an ivory, a-line tulle, backless, spaghetti strapped dress. The top was a deep v-neck cut with tulle and flowers. The dress cinched at my waist before flowing down my body.
Walking out into the spring air was refreshing. We finally did it. We got married. This moment was short lived as our wedding coordinator led us to our photographer to do some pictures before the reception.
It was an hour of blurred movements as we took pictures. Every picture, they had to adjust the tulle of my dress to lay a certain way before having everyone gather around. We did a few of Axel and I, the bridal party, groom and groomsmen, and family pictures.
The final ones were of me, Axel, and Alessio. Axel picked him up and held him between us. I was fixing his little tie when I heard the camera snap a picture. I looked over and the photographer explained, "Candid photos tend to be people's favorites." He smiled then instructed, "Now give him a kiss on the cheek." I did, making Alessio giggle and, in turn, making Axel let out a small laugh.
The night was filled with food, dancing, and family. Our first dance together was to Daniel Ceasar and H.E.R.'s song "Best Part" and it was magical. We sang the song to each other and it was like it was just us two in the room.
Axel and I finally got a chance to sit and relax when it was time for the toasts. Axel leaned over and whispered close to my ear, "I don't know if I told you yet, but you look beautiful." I smiled up at him and kissed his lips. He leaned back in and continued. "When you first walked in and down the isle, I lost my breath. The sun shined in behind you, making a halo of light shine around you. You were like my personal angel coming down from the heavens just for me." He placed a hand through my curled hair at the base of my neck and pulled me into him, kissing me with all the love he has.
People cheered around us and clinked their glasses. We finally separated and I give him a smile while my eyes filled with happy tears. Damn these hormones.
"Okay, okay," Cash said into a microphone next to our head table. "That's enough kissing my sister." Everyone laughed. He laughed along and then sighed. "Hey, everyone! If you don't know me, I'm Cashel, Axel's best man and Lux's brother. I honestly don't have anything prepared, so I'm just going to wing this." Everyone laughed again and Cash waited for it to die down before he spoke again. "Axel, we've been best friends our entire life. We were always together. The first time I broke my arm. The first time you broke your arm. The day you lost your virginity," Axel groaned and covered his face as Cash looked out into the crowd and said, "That's a long story itself," making another round of laughter go through the room.
"Get to the point," laughed Axel. I felt a tug to my right and saw Alessio try to climb over from his chair into my lap, so I lifted him and sat him down while pulling his plate over for him to eat more food.
"Chill, bro. My point is that I know you, everything about you, and I don't know anyone else who would be more perfect than you for Lux. You guys are perfect for each other. You guys are even more perfect of parents to my little man, Alessio."
