Nolan POV-
                          
After Mary and I made up, we made plans to have separate dinners with Mary's parents and my mom. At the dinner with my mom, my mom wouldn't stop asking Mary questions! It literally drove me insane! But thankfully Mary was a good sport and was more than happy to answer all of them.
                          
At the dinner with Mary's mom and dad. Mary's parents were divorced so there would sometimes be little arguments that Mary would quickly shut down. During dinner I got this uncomfortable feeling that Mary's dad didn't like me. But I guess it was acceptable because Mary is the youngest so he would most likely be more protective of her than any of her siblings. 
                          
------2 months later-------
                          
Mary and I are walking around the park when she says "Hey can we-um- talk?"
                          
"Sure..."
                          
We walked until there was a bench and we sat on it. Mary took a deep breath which made me nervous. "Okay. I wanted to ask you if I could wear this. I'm only gonna wear it if you're 100% cool with it."
                          
"Okay...what is it?", I said trying to keep my anxiousness hidden. Mary turned to her purse, unzipped it, and pull out something small. She put it in my hand, and I saw that it was a ring with the word 'Purity' on it with a heart on each side. I handed it back to her and I could see that she was waiting for a response. But before I could say anything, she said,"I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, I won't-"
                          
"It's okay.", I interrupted. "That's your decision and I respect that. That's not why I'm in a relationship with you.", I said.
                          
She still had a look on her face was that was unsure, so I grabbed her head and kissed her. She was surprised at first but then she kissed me back. I could feel her smile as I put the ring on her finger. We continued to kiss until we heard a childish voice say "Ew!".
                          
We looked in front of us and saw a little girl with blonde wavy hair with a woman who had grey wavy hair(assuming it was her grandma), and a black, furry, tall dog with its pink tongue out.
                          
Mary put her head down in embarrassment. "Are you 'boyfuend' and 'gurfuend'?" the little girl said. I nodded as I said, "Yeah we are."
                          
The grandmother had a embarrassed smile on her face as well as she said," I'm sorry about her. She sometimes doesn't think before she talks."
                          
"No, it's cool. I love kids", I said. I felt a slight awkwardness between all of us, so to break the silence, I grabbed Mary's purse and got a cherry-flavored sucker out and held it in front of the little girl. I saw her big blue eyes grow big with excitement. "Grammy, Grammy! Can I pleeeeeeeease have it?", she pleaded. The lady chuckled as she said,"Go ahead, sweetie."
                          
"Yay!", she grabbed the sucker from my hand and roughly ripped the wrapped. Her grandmother's eyes grew wide at her excitement. "Excuse me young lady, what do you say to the young man?", she said. The little girl turned to me and batted her big eyelashes as she said,"Thank you!"
                          
"Your welcome, darling", I said. The little girl started to skip towards the swings as her grandmother and the dog followed her. Mary looked at me and said"Why don't you call me 'darling'?"
                          
"I didn't know you wanted me to...do you want me to?", I said.
                          
"Yes.",she said with a slight smile. "Now...where were we?", I said with a smirk. Mary got the hint and grabbed the back of my neck as she leaned forward and kissed me. 
                          
"I'd hate to stop this...",I said. Mary playfully rolled her eyes. I continued saying,"W-why did you decide to...you know, wear...the ring?"
                          
Mary looked down at the ground, then at me.
                          
"Because...that part of me is so pure and clean. And I feel that when I give it away to somebody, I want that person to be special to me and to respect me.", she said nervously.
                          
"I totally agree with you...darling.", I said. Mary giggled as she kissed me again. For the rest of the day, we just hung out around the park. We swung on the swings, made sand angels and sand castles on the beach volleyball court, and looked at clouds while laying in the empty grass field. We walked back to Mary's house around 7:30 pm. I dropped Mary off at her house, she refused to close the door until I was driving down the street, so I just started walking towards my car as she waited by the door. As I was opening the door, I felt Mary turn me around and wrap her arms around my neck as she kissed me softly. I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around me. I closed the car door as we continued to kiss. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden, I felt happy. I mean, I feel happy all the time but...when she kissed me, I felt a kind of happiness I've never felt before.
                          
"I love you so much.", she said as she started kissing me all over my face. It started to tickle, so I gently grabbed her face. She stopped kissing me and giggled. I whispered,"I love you, too...God, I love you so much."
                          
I gave her one, solid, chaste kiss as I slowly set her on the ground. When our lips separated, she was on her tippy toes. 
                          
"Okay, now I really gotta go.", she said as she let go of me and started walking towards her door. She opened the door and stood right next to it. 
                          
I got the hint and got into the car, started the ignition, and backed out of the driveway. As I rode down the street, I looked through my left mirror and saw that she went into her house. When I got home, I laid in my bed and texted Mary for the rest of the day. It was a good day.
