Hello! So I won't be posting Friday, as in two days (it's Wednesday right now), but I will like, next Friday. Who knows? There might even be a double posting! But that's for you to figure out... After all, if it is going to be, then you probably have already seen it.
Anyway, how about I just write this for you instead? Here you go, everyone!

I decided I should probably go visit Rob and his daughter, to congratulate them. I remember delivering her alas if it just happened. It was my only childbirth, and Marcy was only just getting the stomach pains.
<><><><><><><><><><><><>
I had just finished my cup of coffee, and my boss, Kelly ran in, and said that they needed me for something I've never done. I was a little nervous, don't get me wrong, but I ran with her, excited for what was to come.
We stopped outside of a curtain, and I heard screams coming from inside. I thought "what in the world could possibly be going on in there?"
Kelly lowered her voice and said "This is Mrs. Hermland, and I want you to take a wild guess, trainee, use that super smart brain of yours, about what's going on in there."
I had skipped 1st, 2nd and 4th grade, and this was my going to be my last couple of months before they hired me. School was always a bit tough, but in 6th grade, everything started to get better and easier for me. My brain worked through all of the possibilities for the cause of this scream.
"Either this is her first broken bone, and she has three, or she is knocking on death's door, or she's giving birth." I hoped it wasn't the last one, but considering it was something I'd never done before...
"She came in too far in labour to move her farther than this. We are short on staff, and we need you to do this." An urgency appeared in Kelly's eyes that I don't see that often, so I took a big, shuddery breath and agreed.
We went inside and a pair of gloves was flung at me. I quickly put them on and listened for the hurried commands.
"Dr. Jana, can you stick those IVs in her?" Someone shouted at me.
At the time I had no idea what was inside of them so as I was putting them in I blushed and said "You don't have to call me doctor, Jana will do just fine..." And I wasn't even a doctor yet so the improper term bothered me.
I had no reply so I just knelt down and tried soothe the poor woman pushing with all her might. They gave her the three-two-one-push-for-ten-seconds and she did this fourteen times. My main job was to soothe her as I checked her heart rate and other stats.
On about the tenth try, her husband had arrived. He had nice, brown hair in a buzz-cut, and was growing a little bit of a beard. One of the other nurses quickly filled him in, then continued on working with the patient.
The baby arrived after the fourteenth try, or more precisely, 8:57 a.m. I didn't ever get to meet the baby, because as soon as it was over, I got called for another patient. I have the couple my congratulations and a grin, then hurried out.
<><><><><><><><><><><><>
I never found out the baby's name until that one day, but I did talk to the parents, before Marcy became my patient once more. Apparently, this was very special, because Marcy, being 34, had had 6 miscarriages. She came in once for stomach pains and saw me going to the break room. She called for me, and I recognized her immediately.
She did too, I suppose, because as soon as I came in, she smiled. She told me that her baby wasn't with her, and that she was in daycare.
"I'm glad to hear it was such a success, Mrs. Hermland." I said, feeling pride towards myself, and her.
"Oh, you don't have to call me that... Marcy will do just fine." I grinned, remembering I said the same thing.
I ended up checking her out, and found something in her stomach I didn't like. After a couple more tests, they revealed that there was a small tumor in her pancreas. That's when it all started.

I arrived at Rob's house and unbuckled my seatbelt. I walked up to the door and before my fist could even make contact to the door, it opened. Rob smiled and wrapped me in a hug, inviting me in.
His house was beautiful, even without a "women's touch" he led me into the TV room and we sat down.
"I'm sorry for seeming rude at the door. I just put Charlotte to bed and I don't want to wake her, she's been having some trouble sleeping."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"You're fine. So, what's been going on?"
"Nothing much, but I came to thank you so much for the notepad you gave Joey."
"Oh, that was no trouble!" He brushed the back of his head with a laugh.
"And one other thing. You don't have to be this nice, if you think you owe me a debt, you certainly don't. I just did my job, and it actually didn't work out..." I trailed off and braced myself for his outrage.
But again, Rob shocked me when he did absolutely nothing. "I will never be able to make up that debt, but you should know that's not the reason I'm being kind. Marcy said to never loose track of myself when she was gone, and to remain the kind man she loves. I am doing this for her, and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I became an awful person after she passed."
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to bring this upon you..." I said, ashamed.
"Oh, it's nothing. Do you want anything? I was making some pumpkin bread if you want any."
Oh yah, I thought Halloween is coming up soon... "Oh, no you don't have to give me anything."
He laughed and said "I'll go wrap it up for you."
I laughed to myself as he walked away to get the bread.

I drove home, with the neatly packaged bread in the passenger seat next to me.

But seriously, I am so grateful!!! And I hope I will get some comments on who you want to be the next story-teller!
I am making a new rule for that by the way. You can comment anywhere for the next story teller, as long as it is after the chapter! For example: To vote for the story-teller for chapter 20, you can comment the name (Joey, Jana's Dad, Grace, or Snowball) anywhere in chapters 11-19!
Thank you all so much again for the reads! Vote! Comment! Share the love!
