you watched as colby tied his tie, and he turned around facing you. you smiled, and looked into his ocean blue eyes. he smiled back and grabbed one of your small hands, rubbing it gently with his thumb.
"you're so pretty, y/n. it blows me away every time i see you." you blushed a little, smiling down at your feet. colby rested his forehead against your head, looking down at you.
"thank you colby, you mean everything to me." that caused colby to smile, and he lifted your chin. he looked into your eyes, before looking down at your lips. he leaned in, and kissed you softly.
you kissed back, gripping his tuxedo jacket. colby pulled back, looking into your eyes. he was deeply in love with you, and would take a bullet for you in an instant. he was too scared to admit that yet, you've only been together for about six months.
he was scared that he'd drive you away by telling you how he truly felt about you. colby couldn't lose you, because if he did he would lose himself. you keep him together, and he's the happiest he's ever been with you.
he grabbed your hand and walked outside to his car with you. you got into the passenger seat, while he got into the driver seat. he drove until you arrived on a beach, with a makeshift dinner table. it had candles, roses and everything romantic.
you smiled and blushed at the sight. "colby! you didn't have to do this." you gushed to him, causing him to smile at you. "i did, because you deserve to be spoiled." you hid in his chest as you blushed even harder.
colby kissed your head and held out your chair as you sat down. you looked at all of the food, smelling the amazing scent of it. colby watched your smile as you admired everything, causing him to chuckle lightly to himself.
you started eating while having a conversation with him. you giggled lightly as he laughed with you. you and colby had an extremely romantic dinner, and started to talk a nice walk on the beach.
"the sunset is so pretty." you said, looking over the ocean and at the horizon. colby was holding your hand, and was admiring you. "you're glowing under the colors of the sunset." colby said with an adoring voice, making you look over at him.
"i have something to tell you y/n." you looked over at colby, feeling a bad sensation in your stomach. you furrowed your brows and noticed colby get nervous, making your heart pound. "i don't know how to say this, because i don't want you to run off when i do."
you looked over at him and he stopped you in your tracks. he grabbed your hands, squeezing them gently. colby looked down, and sighed. "i love you. and i know you're probably thinking 'that's all.' but there is so much more. i feel my heart pound whenever i'm around you, and i feel nervous. but also completely comfortable around you. my love for you is in my veins, i can feel it. every time i see you i always think i never deserve you, but i also want you forever. i want to get married to you, and i want to start a family with you. i promise to spoil you and make you the happiest girl on this planet. you mean everything to me and i can't afford to lose you. i am so deeply in love with you that it's sickening. you never have to worry about me falling for another woman, but i will love another girl. and that girl will be our daughter, our princess. forever, until death does us part, i will treat you like the queen you are and i will never stop loving you. i give you my word."
tears were down your face as you looked him in the eyes. he too was on the verge of crying, as his eyes were red and he was biting his lip to prevent the tears from falling. you smiled and more tears fell as you reheard his words in your head.
"colby i.." you paused, before looking up at him. he was looking at you with hope in his eyes, but also fear of your answer. "i love you too, more than you'll ever know." colby's smile was planted onto his face as a tear fell out of his eyes.
"i promised myself i wouldn't cry, jesus." he said laughing a little and wiping his eyes. you giggled and cupped his cheeks. "it's okay, it makes your speech that much realer. you're the one for me, colby. and i can't wait to have an amazing future with you." colby chuckled and connected foreheads with you.
"i can't wait either. it's going to be even more perfect than it is right now." you smiled and you both leaned in, connecting your lips. you kissed with passion, as colby gripped your waist firmly and pulled you closer, desperately wanting to be as close to you as he can get. you wrapped your arms around his neck, opening your mouth a little for him.
he slipped his tongue in, slowly kissing you, but also tongue kissing you. you felt loved, and so did he. you never knew what it felt like to be overwhelmed with love for another person until now. and you're so excited to be alive for it, it's all you ever could've asked for.
after a minute or two colby pulled away, tucking some hair behind your ear. he looked into your eyes, smiling as he gently swayed side to side with you. you couldn't get enough, you went back in for another kiss, wanting the taste of his lips once more.
colby lifted you off the ground and spun you around, causing you to pull away and squeal a little. colby giggled at your noise, and put you back down. he reached into his pocket, and pulled something out.
you saw that it was a ring, and it was gorgeous.

you covered your mouth. "colby, you didn't." colby looked into your eyes with a slight smirk on his face. "i did baby. this is the promise ring that i give to you, because i promise to love you forever and marry you in the future. we're made for each other, and we're against the world together. i love you y/n."
you held out your right hand and colby slipped it on your ring finger. before kissing you yet again and cupping one of your cheeks in his hand, the other intertwined with yours.
once again you pulled away, and smiled so wide at each other. you gripped colby's hand and ran down the beach, soon letting go and sprinting, having him chase you. he caught up to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, hugging you into his chest. you smiled so wide, and knew from that moment forward, that you were going to live your best life, with the best guy by your side.
