"Wait what?!" Ray and James yelled at me.
I sighed. "They came to make a deal. Red Star wanted Troy to join forces. They want to share my power or something."
I felt Leon tug on my shirt. "Is it true? Is it all true?" I looked down at his scared little face.
I sighed. "I wish I was lying but it's all true. Somehow I've dragged everyone close to me into my mess." I looked out towards the lake. "Sometimes I wonder if Sheila did the right thing."
"Of course she did the right thing, we just haven't figured out exactly what their motives are," Ren assured me. My eye twitched as Caine and Greg yelled at each other and ran after a ball.
Ray took notice of this and decided to speak. "Guys! We're discussing something important here!" He shouted.
"Yeah! You guys are acting like children!" James yelled.
Caine and Greg stopped abruptly, and turned towards us. "What do you mean?" Greg asked. They both strolled towards us.
"Don't you remember the reason why we met here in the first place?" James asked sternly.
"We even went into a woods so no one would hear us!" Ray roared.
I clamped my hands over my ears, as did Caine and Greg. "Okay we get it! We're sorry!" They said plopping down on the ground.
"I heard most if the conversation, and by the looks of it this is bad," Caine stated.
"Way to point out the obvious like always," Greg sighed.
I stared at the lake. "What are we supposed to do?" I asked barely audible. We sat in silence, exchanging glances at each other.
Then Ray and James stood up suddenly, startling all of us. "Well if it's a war they want," James started.
"It's a war they'll get," Ray finished. They both smiled like idiots.
"What do you mean by that?"Ren asked.
"I think we know what they mean," Caine said standing. Greg stood up as well.
"Yeah, we'll fight to the death!" All four of them beamed.
"You guys are idiots," I grumbled.
Leon looked up at me and smiled. He stood up as well. "Even if they are idiots, they're all really good friends," he said cheerily.
Ren clapped and stood up too. "Leon's right, so.." she turned to me and held out her hand. "Are you in?"
I hesitated then shook my head. A smirk came upon my lips. "When am I never in? I follow you guys around like a dog," I said grabbing her hand. She hoisted me up.
" Well now that you're in, let's figure this out," Caine suggested.
I nodded. "I'm pretty sure they'll make their move soon. Red Star will be more confident with Troy as their allies."
Leon tugged at my shirt,"Why not just be a step ahead? Set up a trap for them. Surely they'll fall for that." I stared down at him wide eyed.
"Looks like he's smarter than we think," James said.
"Yeah that plan might actually work, but how do we set up a trap?" Ray asked.
We looked at each other for the answer. It finally popped into my brain. I looked at the ground. "That's it," I breathed out.
Ren looked at me confused. "What's it?"
I shifted my gaze up to meet their faces. "Tomorrow's Friday, correct?" Everyone nodded. "Okay so after school Friday we'll prepare ourselves at Caine and Ray's house-"
