THOMAS POV
As the bullet hits her shoulder, something about her changed, something in her eyes flickered.
That look of concern she had from caring for Harrison faded as something else took over and I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I... I liked it.
You know in movies when the vampire goes all vampire-mode or the zombie goes all zombie-mode? It was kind of like that. It was a different person.
She was still kneeling on the ground, hunched over from the impact of the shot, her hair in her face, but I could see her eyes. Those damn eyes.
Shadow: "We trusted you."
There's silence in the air.
I try my hardest to process everything. It's because she was supposed to be unbiased, uninvolved with the street commotion and stay in her hospital, but it kind of looks like she's working with us.
I stand, making my presence known, but he doesn't seem to care about me now. There's a couple bodies around him and when he raises his gun to shoot the doc again, I don't know what came over me, but I raise mine too... In her defense?
Were we even on the same side?
The gunshot rings through the air.
But I didn't take one.
Yet he's down.
Harrison:"Fast, doc," I hear him croak behind me.
I look over and doc is still kneeling down, barely even looking up, but had Harrison's gun in her hand. She was fast. I already had mine in my hand, yet she beat me to the shot when she had to fetch Harrison's first.
Then she stands and walks towards this Shadow.
Y/n:"How. Dare. You."
Even her voice sounded different.
It was soft, but enough to make me shiver.
Shadow:"You're not supposed to be... On a side."
Y/n:"I'm not. You don't know anything."
He stays silent as she kicks his gun away from him.
My men are unsure of what to do either, was this our fight or not? They were originally after us, but now this seems to be a bigger issue.
Y/n:"If I let you go, you disappear or something bigger... Something worse is going to happen," she says so quietly but I hear it and he nods.
What did she mean?
Gina:"Sh-Shadow!" A girl comes running towards them, followed by a few other men, "You... You bitch!"
Y/n:"Gina, you need to calm-" but Gina goes at her.
The doc is clearly more skilled and stronger though.
Yeah, this wasn't my fight now.
Y/n:"Stop," she commands constantly, but Gina doesn't, despite clearly being weaker, surely losing.
Gina:"I thought you cared," she finally pulls out a gun to compensate, "But you don't care about anybody!"
The doc disarms her in one movement and I get a glimpse of that look in her eyes like I saw earlier as she effortlessly fights off this Gina girl. Dammit.
Y/n:"Stop," she commands again.
But a girl overcome with rage is careless.
I watch as Gina gets thrown onto the hood of a car.
