"I can drive if you want. We can just go to a store and get some pain medicine or something. Or do y'all wanna go to the hospital?" I ask.

Bree still doesn't say a word.

"Mila?"

I look at Mila and she's still rubbing her head.

I sit back, feeling useless. What am I supposed to do?

"Sis?" I say as I place my hands on their backs.

And just like that..

Their hands drop.

Bree's the first one to speak.

"Okay, I feel better."

Mila leans back against the seat. "Me too."

"Oh, good." I say.

"So, that was crazy." Bree states. "I couldn't even get a word out. That's how bad it hurt. I told y'all I wasn't playing. Something is wrong with us. Maybe it is genetics. This might sound bad, but I'm glad you felt it too." Bree looks over at Mila.

"Today is full of unexpected events, I see." Mila responds. "Rainey, did you feel anything? You seemed fine."

"I was fine. I didn't feel anything, so hopefully this "thing" skipped over me. That scared the hell out of me."

Mila looks to Bree, her eyes big with confusion. "We need to go to the doctor Monday."

"I think so too, but let's go to the store right now, and then to the event. I wanna have some kind of fun today and after what has happened so far, we need it." Bree replies.

We head to the dollar store that's only two buildings over. Bree gets some pain pills just in case those killer headaches come back. Mila grabs us some ponchos instead of umbrellas because nobody wants to walk around holding an umbrella all night. I spend my time staring at the other customers who are staring at us. We're still a little wet, but what do they expect?

OH yeah. I forgot that me and my sisters are losing our minds and can see rain while everyone around us can't. They just see us wet.

I then notice again that all of the people I've caught looking at us, are completely dry. Just like the honda. It's just so crazy how they're all somehow still dry. This makes Bree's story ten times more intense than it already is. I shake the thought out of my head. There must have been something in our water today.

We pay for our items, ignoring the cashier's confused look. I want to give him the middle finger but that's just unnecessary.

As we drive off, Mila says, "We're gonna look stupid if we arrive wet."

"Right."

"I know."

Bree and I reply at the same time.

I just laugh it off. We don't need to worry about everyone else. Let's start the weekend off right and worry about everything else on Monday.

But Mila doesn't feel the way I do.

"Stop at Prima's. It's right down there. We can buy something from the shop and head on over." Mila points up ahead.

We know exactly where the shop is. We spend a lot of time and money there. I don't protest her request.  This shouldn't take too long, I think to myself as Bree heads for the store.

Our shopping adventure was quick because thankfully, Prima wasn't there. She's a real bitch. She would've kicked our wet asses out for sure. Instead, Taylor is there. I have a few classes with her. She's always high and never questions anything. That's why I fuck with her.
