Chapter Nineteen:

Bryce's POV

"Your girlfriend would be pissed to know that you're talking to me, wouldn't she?" Scarlett asks me, tapping her finger against the diamond pierced into the skin below her lip.

I narrow my eyes at her, responding, "I already told Anders to get the fuck out of my life, and I won't hesitate to strongly advise that you do the same."

Grinning at me, she flashes her bright white teeth, a sly look in her eyes.

"Would she be jealous to hear that you're talking to another girl? Especially one that you used to screw every other weekend?" she asks.

I hang up the call.

She calls me again a couple of seconds later, and with an agitated sigh, I pick up to find her still sporting a huge, cocky smile on her face.

"What? You don't like to be reminded of your manwhore tendencies?" she asks innocently, and I contemplate hanging up the call once again.

"I don't want to fucking hear it, Carly. I love my girl, and I don't want to be with anyone else anymore. She's it for me," I whisper, not even caring about how many jokes Scarlett will be able to make out of my words.

I'm not embarrassed by my Blossom. Not one bit.

"Her name is Lexi, right? Does she know about me, Anders, or Brit?" Scarlett responds, surprisingly not having anything rude to input right now.

Biting down on the inside of my cheek to keep composed, and also choosing to not give her confirmation on my girlfriend's name, I respond, "I got a phone call from Anders when she was sitting right beside me, so she knows that he exists. She doesn't know about Brit yet, but she saw you on my Instagram and I'm fairly certain that she is indeed jealous of you."

I don't bother mentioning that Blossom has absolutely no need to be jealous of anyone, because my heart practically belongs to her for Christ's sake.

"Why aren't you with her right now?" Scarlett then asks, switching the topic for some reason.

I know that she likes to pretend that she's fine, and that none of the shit we all went through phases her, but I know that she's just lying her way through it all.

"She's at a party with her roommate and some guys that apparently also go to her school," I answer wearily, and Scarlett gets an evil glint in her eyes.

"So she's cheating on you then?" she remarks, and I give her the middle finger.

She begins tapping her piercing again, continuing to bombard me with questions by then wondering, "What happened to you, Bryce? You've never been the type to skip out on a party if it meant the you would get laid."

"For the last fucking time, Carly; I have a damn girlfriend!" I hiss, and she chuckles, pushing her hair back behind her ears as it falls into her face.

"Polyamory isn't your thing, I assume?" she asks sweetly.

"Fuck you."

"You used to all the time."

I'm about to lose my shit at her until another call comes through, from my dad.

I decline it, glancing back to Carly who still has an obnoxious smirk plastered on her face.

"My dad is calling me. Hopefully I'll never have to speak with you ever again. Bye, you sneaky bitch," I tell her, and she smiles even wider.

"See you never, you dickhead," she returns, and I hang up on her without another thought.
