The influx of messages that I got when I woke up in the morning was enough the make me giddy all over again. Plus the ache between my thighs. The hand wrapped on my waist and the soft kisses planted on my bare back. I remember texting everyone I knew about my engagement while on the way home. Then I turned my phone off and celebrated with my fiancé.

"Good morning babe." Chris breathed into my skin. He was lightly tracing shapes with his thumb. "Sleep well babygirl?"

I hummed and nodded. I turned on my side to greet him. "Good morning baby." I twirled my fingers in his short but fluffy hair. I couldn't get enough of how his skin would glow in the morning light. He looked so angelic. "Can I ask you a question?" I Inquired.

He nodded biting his lip. "Anything Babydoll." He pulled me closer to him and I felt his bare body flush against mine.

"What made you propose to me last night?" I continued to play with his hair even when he turned on his back and pulled me to lay my head on his chest.

His heart rate went up as he spoke. He was getting insecure about himself and I could tell. "When I was at the airport I saw this couple and they had a kid and one on the way, I just saw them and they looked so happy and then in that moment you called me. I knew then I needed to wife you up." He stroked my hair and I sighed in awe.

"I love you Chris." I murmured into his chest. He mumbled the words back and we laid in bed for a long time. "I think we need to get up."

He groaned and pulled the covers over us some more. "5 more minutes babe." He closed his eyes and his eyelashes fluttered. 5 more minutes turned into another hour in bed.

I finally got up and stayed up. I showered and cleaned up and went to cook what was now brunch. I had started on the pancakes with the homemade batter and then I went to get some eggs out and bacon. I was letting the stand mixer whip up the pancake mix. Then I poured some mix in the skillet to cook. "Chris." I gasped when I felt him come up behind me.

He was in nothing but a towel and his hair was semi wet. He placed kisses from my shoulder up to my neck and then on the side of my face.

"If you make me burn theses pancakes you will regret it mister." I warned him.

Chris chuckled and added one last kiss to my cheek before stepping back. "Sorry doll you just looked so damn fine." He but his lips. "Was that cheesy?"

I nodded with a laugh. "I like cheesy though." I winked at him and he gave my ass a little swat. I jumped when I felt something brush against my leg. It was Dodger who was passing by. He wagged to Chris and he bent down to pet him. "Babe your towel!" It was falling down, but that wasn't really a bad thing.

Soon I was done with breakfast and Chris had put some sweats on, still walking around with no shirt on. We ate together and talked about what we wanted the wedding to be like. Then we curled up on the couch that turned into a bed. We watched movies, scary movies, even though I told Chris I didn't want to. He claimed he wouldn't let any demons possess me. How charming.

We were in the middle of a movie when someone knocked on the door. "I'll get it." I whispered to Chris. I got up and went to answer the door. "Tom?" Chris's assistant was at the door. He was dressed casually in some jeans and a shirt.

"Hi Ms. Y/l/n is Chris here? I have that stuff he wanted." He said softly. He was such a soft boy.

I smiled. "Yeah he's here." I opened the door for him to come in. "And you don't need to call me by my last name. It's just Y/n." I told him. He nodded and apologized. I just giggled and went to join Chris back on the couch. "Did you want anything Tom? You could stay and watch a movie with us if you'd like?"

"I really would love to, but I have to go meet my girlfriend for dinner and this was on my way."

Chris sat up on the couch. "Is that what I think it is?" He took the envelope from Tom. "Yep, this stupid shit."

"What's wrong?" I asked when I saw he was visibly getting upset.

He tossed the envelope on the ground after reading the contents inside it. "That bastard is getting out in a couple more days and we have to get ready to get a restraining order on him."

He was talking about Matt and the thought of Matt made me sick. "Oh." Was all I could get out. After the judge only sentenced Matt to a year for the assault I tried to throw away that life I had with him. The house I spent so much effort into keeping became this constant reminder of pain and suffering. Finally giving into Chris and moving in with him. I tried to get my life back on track. Taking on new patients and even finding new hobbies. It was all in order to distract myself from the impending storm. Matt getting out of prison and back on the streets.

"Hey, hey- doll I want let him get near you, we'll get the restraining order and everything will be okay." Chris stroked the side of my face. The intimate moment was interrupted when

Tom had turned away to sneak out and bumped into one of the tables holding a lamp and coasters. He frantically apologized and slipped through the door with a wave goodbye.

I let out a giggle and Chris just shook his head with a chuckle. "Anyway doll..." he continued. "I don't want you to be afraid because he has no power over you babe, he won't ever even see you again when I'm done."

I nodded and leaned into hug him. "I love you." I whispered and kisses his bearded cheek.

"I love you more than anything doll."
