"Avery! They're gaining on us!" my sister said as she looked back.

I didn't need to look back to know that they were, because I felt the vibrations through the ground. I grabbed my sister and pulled her onto me, before I placed another spurt of speed, wanting to get away fast. "Hold on tight," I said, as I ran. She did as I said and held on. I didn't care where I was going, all I knew was that I had to get away from them, even if there was this pull to one of them. The green eyes came into my mind, making my heart flutter. I shook my head and dodged a tree that seemed to appear in front of me.

"I'm scared, Ava," Anna whimpered grabbing hold of me tightly. Her heart was pounding, and I could feel her fear.

"Split up and try to corner them that way!" one of the wolves barked. His voice sent shivers down my body, and I knew that he was my mate. But, Werewolves and Hunters don't mate. That's not possible.

There was a sound of crashing, and I knew that they were splitting. Only one person was following us, and I knew that I had to make it so that we were split also. They wanted me, not her.

I jumped over a log and swerved in between a couple trees, before I came to an area that was secluded and away from prying eyes. I stopped and pulled Anna off me, before kneeling down in front of her. I took a deep breath and looked at her. "I need you to run to the truck," I said, my voice shaking. "Get into the truck, and wait for me there. There are a couple of weapons that you can use."

"Bu-"

"No, Anna, there are no buts. I'll lead them away from you. You just need to get to the truck and stay there until I come for you." I took the whistle, that was on a necklace off and gave it to her. Nick had given it to me, if I had a problem. However, I haven't used it, because I can usually take care of myself. "If any of them gets to you, then I want you to blow the whistle. Nick will hear it, and he'll come. He said that he would, and he better go to you."

"But what about you?" Anna whispered. Tears leaked out of her eyes as she looked at me.

"Don't worry about me, Baby Girl. I had trained harder than normal a Hunter would. Just do this for me, please." My voice showed that I hated going leaving her alone, but I didn't care. I had to get them away from her. Anna had been my life for a long time. After we were split up and placed in different foster cares, I started to self-harm. That was until one night, I left the foster house and ran, wanting to find my sister. Faes had seen me and knew of me as a Hunter, but they helped me find my sister. I became friends with a Fae, even though she knew about my secret, she still stayed by my side.

Anna took the whistle and nodded her head. "I will," she said. "You just don't get killed."

I smirked, but my lip quivered, knowing that I wouldn't be able to keep that promise. "No promises, Sweetpea." I kissed her forehead and pulled away. "Go." With that I ran another direction, making more noise than a normal Hunter would. However, I needed to keep my sister safe. So, if making a lot of noise would lure them to me, then I would do it.

I couldn't help but yelp in surprise when I was knocked down. I landed wrong on my shoulder, but I didn't care about the sting of pain, knowing that nothing was wrong with it. I shifted onto my back, to see that I was trapped under a black wolf with light blue eyes. Sparks tingled from where he was touching me as he shifted into his human form.

I groaned and closed my eyes, not liking that he was nude. I didn't need to see what package he had, because I didn't really care about it. "Just put some pants on, Wolf," I spat. There was some venom in my voice, because I was annoyed with him.

"You will move if I do, Hunter," the male said a growl in his voice. "Besides, you are mine."

I snorted and shook my head. "Haha," I said, sarcastically. "I think someone spiked your Eggnog or whatever you've been drinking. Hunters and Werewolves don't mate... Do they?" I couldn't keep the question out of my voice. I mean I knew about Soul Mates and such, but that didn't mean I knew about a lot of stuff. I thought that Werewolves mated to other Werewolves, even though there were some cases that a Wolf would mate with a human.

The male shifted, getting uncomfortable. I knew that he was trying to figure it out, also. "Open your eyes, and we'll see if we are mates or not."

"Hell no," I said, annoyed. "I ain't openin' my eyes for nothin'. You are in your birthday suit, and I ain't going to-"

"Alpha, I see that you caught her," another voice said. "What are we going to do with her? Kill her like we do the others?"

"You can't kill me. We aren't even on your land, and you'll be damned if you try killing me," I snapped. "I'll hunt you down until the cows come home." I struggled and the nameless male kept hold of my wrists, tightening his grip. "Now, get off me, you perv. I got a job to do."

"And what's that?" the second male asked, with a sneer in his voice. "Kill some innocent Supernatural creature that hasn't done anything to you."

I scoffed. "That's my night, night job," I said, sarcastically earning a growl from both of the Werewolves, because I'm guessing they think that I would actually kill an innocent. "No, I work at May's Diner, earning money, so I can keep my damn place."

"And what about your parents," the same male, sneered. "Where are they? Lil' Baby needs to be protected from the big bad wolf that hunts in the dark."

That did it, I was angry at them. I snarled and acted on instinct. I shoved the male off of me, before jumping up and pulling out a dagger that was made of silver. Two steps I was on the one that had spoken about my parents and opened my unnatural purple eyes, letting him feel my anger. "Don't you dare talk about them. Got it?" I snapped, a growl behind my words. I lifted the dagger to his throat, making the Alpha growl. "You don't know me or them, and I'll kill you for talking about them like that. Th-they were good people. Th-they didn't deserve to die." Tears glistened in my eyes, but I didn't cry. Crying showed weakness, and I will not cry in front of my enemy. "I take care of myself an-"

There was a sharp blow of a whistle, and I knew that it was my sister.

"You tricked me," I snarled, glaring at both of them.. "She's just a kid." With that, I turned towards the whistle and started to run as fast as I could, wanting to get to her. I pushed my dagger up into my sleeve, knowing that I would be asked about it.

"Hey! Get back here!" one of the Wolves said. There was some shuffling, as one pulled a pair of pants, before there were two pairs of feet running towards me.

However, I didn't care about them. All I cared about was getting to my sister, before she got killed. I just hope that I wasn't all ready too late.
