For the first time since I had arrived at this hospital, I had fallen asleep without the help of medicine, and it actually felt good to wake up without feeling all death like a groggy. Sure, I was still in a lot of pain, but I managed to get through an entire day and night without putting myself into a medically induced coma, and that was something that I was proud of.
"I should've been there for you and I wasn't." I heard someone say. It was very faint, but not faint enough to where I couldn't hear it. I slowly opened my eyes, seeing Wes standing over me, with tears in his eyes. In all the years I have known Wes, I had never seen him cry until now, and that made me feel some type of way. "When you asked me to tell Theo to bring the car around, that's exactly what I did, but on my way back to you...I noticed there was an alarm going off. The back door of the building was opened and I went to check it out, leaving you alone when I should've just waited until you were out of harms way. Words can't even express how sorry I am and if I could trade places with you, then I would, but I can't. Destiny...you should know something...I-I love you. You are an amazing, talented, sweet woman and I will never forget the impact you've had on my life. The next bodyguard you get, you better give them hell like you did with me when I first started out." He wiped his eyes, bending down and placing a long kiss on my forehead, before looking me in my eyes. I wanted to cry, only because it sounded as if he were leaving me or something, but why would he? This wasn't his fault, despite him not being there when I needed him, but hearing his side of the story...he was still just doing his job. Out of nowhere, he leaned down and pressed his lips against mine, catching me off guard, before he quickly pulled away.
"Goodbye Destiny." He turned to leave, but I quickly grabbed his arm, shaking my head. What he wasn't about to do was say all those things to me, kiss me, then try and leave talking about some damn goodbye! Goodbye my ass! "I know I shouldn't have done that and I'm sorry, but...you should at least know how I feel about you. Christian is a very lucky man." He tried to leave again, but I grabbed his arm once more. I wish I could ask him where he was going and what he was talking about, but I couldn't. My mouth had been wired shut and I couldn't talk, let alone breathe correctly.
"Wait a minute...can you hear me?" He asked. I nodded my head, watching as his entire face went from white to red, as he slowly ran his hand down his face. Yep...I heard everything you just said to me, lover boy. I thought to myself. "So...you uh...you heard everything I just said to you?" He asked. I smirked a little and nodded my head, as he turned away from me, cursing under his breath.
I did a small gesture with my hand, asking him to find me something to write with, but he didn't understand what I was asking for. I wanted to know where he was going and how long he had these so called feelings for me, because I didn't know he felt this way. For as long as I could remember, Wes has been my best friend, and knowing that he had feelings for me...well that made this entire thing a lot more complicated.
Before he finally realized what I was asking for, the door came open and Christian walked into the room, stopping dead in his tracks when he saw that Wes was in here. The look they gave each other told me that something must've went down while I was unconscious, because Christian was looking as if he wanted to rip Wes's head off; all while Wes looked unfazed, yet regretful.
