The very moment Evie stepped over the threshold in her high heels the music and people bombarded her. To her left, was a DJ and a makeshift dance floor where most of the already intoxicated teens had begun to dance and grind with each other. To her right, was the mini bar, drinks already prepared and set out in red plastic cups.

After scanning the room for Robert and turning up empty handed, she decided to get herself a drink to relax her nerves a bit. She grabbed a red cup with slight hesitation, a voice in the back of her head reminding her of that little drug people put in other people's drinks. Dismissing that thought, she tossed back her head and let the liquid slide down her throat.

"Hey Evie!" Robert walked over to her and gave her one of his famous bear hugs. "Glad you made it!" his voice was just barely audible over the blaring music. "There's someone I want you to meet."

Robert grabbed a hold of Evie's hand and pulled her along roughly, it was obvious to her that he had already started drinking. He pulled her past the dance floor and into the area Evie assumed to be the kitchen, though she couldn't see a stove or a sink with all of the people in the room.

"Evie, this is my friend Evan, Evan, this is Evie." Robert gestured to the man with a wide smile. "Now you two have fun!" with that last note, robert disappeared into the crowd of people.

Evan was tall, skinny, but he had some muscle at the same time. He had sandy brown hair similar to Evie's but not quite as long, his hair only reached the tops of his eyebrows and his bangs swooped over to the left side. He reminded Evie of some sort of Justin Bieber wannabe.

Evan smiled a big toothy grin. "It's nice to finally meet you,Evie."

She noticed the way he said her name, he had an accent but it was very faint. "Nice to meet you too...i think."

He laughed a little, but it didn't reach his eyes. His eyes, they were green. But not the type of green Evie had been hoping for. The man from her dreams, his eyes were darker. "You are the famous Evie Walker aren't you? I've heard so many stories."

She rolled her eyes. "I'm sure you have." she muttered it under her breath but somehow he had heard it.

He frowned momentarily, but then his lips pulled back up into that smile. "Good stories, i assure you."

Evie looked away for a minute and scanned the dance floor until she found her other best friend, Rachel. "Well I'm glad they amuse you, sorry, I've got to go, it was nice meeting you."

She turned on her heel to walk over to her friend and join her on the dance floor, but Evan caught her wrist. She turned back around and glared at him, with that stupid grin on his face she just wanted to punch it off.

"Just what do you think your doing?" she brought authority to her voice, the kind that her teachers would use whenever she got into trouble.

Her head began to spin and Evan's eyes darkened, or at least to Evie they did. Suddenly, she could no longer hear the blaring music and all of the sweating intoxicated bodies that were grinding and talking had all vanished. She looked around the room with wide eyes, there was absolutely no one here except for Evan and herself. That very thought terrified her.

She narrowed her eyes at Evan. "I don't know who you are and frankly, I don't care. But if you don't let me go right now I swear you'll regret it."

He didn't let go, in fact he only tightened his grip on her wrist, she winced and he relished in the satisfaction. "He cannot have you." His voice was different now, there was no wondering if there was even a slight accent, the accent was there without a doubt, strong and irish.
