Grayson's POV
I'm such an idiot.
I got so pissed when I saw Asher grinding with some other girl while Rae watched. And my dumbass thought it would be smart to say something to her.
It's not that what I said wasn't true, Asher will always be an f-boy for now, but it was the way I said it. Rae looked at me like I had just punched her in the stomach.
I think I saw her walk past some people on the other side of the balcony.
I walk towards the spot where she should have been and see nothing but a side door that says, "AREA NOT PERMITTED TO PASSENGERS."
Where could have she gone?
There aren't any stairs to go on the upper deck. The music drowns out my words as I call out her name.
Still no sign of her.
Every time I hear the beat drop in and out, I hear faint scream.
It's coming from below.
Which would mean it's coming from the water.
I lean against the railing and look down. Ten feet down is Rae in a raft, screaming for help.
I grab onto the railing in sheer shock.
"Rae?! What happened?!"
"I fell off the side of the boat! Please help me!" Immediately another lightning strike crackles against the sky and harsh rain begins to falls from the sky.
I have to get to her quick.
"I'm coming down!"
I figure if I find a way down, I can help her paddle to the back of the boat, to the lowest part, where we can pull into safety.
The rain causes people the run in all directions and everyone pushes past me. Someone bumps into me from behind and my hands slip off the edge making me fall forward. I can see my self falling into the water as I scream.
Immediately, water enters my nose and eyes and I sink deep into the freezing cold water. I kick my legs upward till my head reaches the surface. I let out the breath I was holding.
Rae helps me up into the raft, pulling at my arms with all her strength.
The thunder clouds roar and the rain gets heavier, making it even harder to see clearly. The boat starts up and begins to move. By now, no one is on the outside decks, so no one can see us.
"We have to paddle to get closer!" I scream over the loud storm.
She nods and we both grab a wooden oar and paddle quickly on each side of the raft. The boat is getting further and further away, and the crashing waves make our paddling useless.
The waves seem to keep pulling us further back instead of forward. What the hell?
The water gets heavier around us and the waves crash right on us. Rae screams.
We don't go under. Instead we dip in and out of the water, ocean water spilling in and out of the raft. The lights of the boat aren't visible because the storm is getting worse.
The water dips again into the raft, this time falling on Rae and making the raft dip backwards.
She grabs the edges of the raft in attempt to fall out of the water. I reach out and pull her next to me before the water can grab her.
"What are we suppose to do?!" Her voice is muffled by the sound of the thundering rain.
"We have to wait out the storm until we can reach land!" I scream over the noise.
