"So this is it, the Garrison," Shiro said calmly with a smile on his face, "come on, I'll show you to your room."
Keith nodded as he followed after him, the first thing he noticed was that there were multiple beds. He sighed unpleased. He hated sharing rooms, he just wanted to be alone.
"Can I get a room for myself?" He asked Shiro slightly annoyed.
"I'm sorry Keith, cadets can't," Shiro sighed with a frown upon his face, "why don't you wait with unpacking? Maybe you can go make some friends."
"Yeah, right," Keith scoffed as he threw his bags on the bed in the corner, "I'll see you."
Shiro sighed once more. "Keith, it's allright to make friends."
"I don't need any, now go, I need to unpack," he groaned as he threw his stuff in the closet. Shiro nodded and left, Keith thought he was finally alone untill his other roommate walked in.
"Ugh, it's Keith," James groaned as he looked at Keith with a disgusted look on his face, "I'm surprised to see you here."
"I guess they didn't care about my grades but saw actual talent," Keith sneered at the boy that bullied him for years, "can't say the same about you."
"Whatever," James shrugged  and he turned to his friend, "did you see that girl with the tails?"
"The one with the big guy and the sad one?" His friend asked as he started to put his clothes in a different closet.
"Yeah, her," James said and he smirked, "she's cute."
Keith rolled his eyes, he liked some weird girl already of course.
"Are you excited for classes?" James' friend asked James not really intrested in talking about some girl.
"Yeah, the piloting mostly. I'll show everyone who really is the better pilot," James shrugged, "maybe I'll even impress that cute girl."
Keith snorted at James, who did not seem happy about it.
"At least I could get a girl like her, she's way out of your league Kogane," James scoffed.
"Like I care," Keith shrugged, "maybe she is clever enough to snort at you as well."
Before James could say another word he walked out not intrested in anything James had to say, he'd just go and explore the hallways since James wasn't there.
"Lance, you are not worthless," he heard a girl say calmly, drawing his attention in her direction. In the next hallway he saw a boy with tanned skin, brown hair and dark blue eyes being upset while a small girl with pigtails was embracing him. That must be her. That must be the girl James was talking about.
"Maybe if you show them how good you really are you can be placed in the fighter class as well," the big guy said.
"It's not going to be that bad, the only class we won't have together is piloting," Pigtails said. The guy did not seem pleased with that.
"But I wanted to be a fighter pilot," the guy said sobbing into Pigtails shoulder, who had a worried look on her face.
"I'll talk to my sister," Pigtails suggested, "will you take care of him until I return?"
The big guy nodded warmheartidly and walked off with the other guy, Pigtails now walked towards Keith. He freaked out and didn't know where to walk, which caused her to bump into him and stumble backwards.
"I'm so sorry," she said and smiled, "are you allright?"
"Yeah," he murmered. James was right, she was cute. Her little smile made him feel warm inside for some reason.
"I've got to go but I am really sorry for bumping into you," she sighed, "I can be a little clumsy sometimes."
She walked through the hall, like she already knew where she was going.
"I was the clumsy one," he whispered to himself as Pigtails dissappeared from his sight.

Three months later he was looking for Shiro, to ask him something about the homework officer Egan had given him. He could've gone to her himself as she had suggested, but like this he could spend his time with Shiro.
When he walked  in Adam was also there, Keith's eyebrows shot up as he didn't want to interrupt them.
"I'll come back later, I guess," Keith said ready to walk away.
"Nonsense," Adam said pulling him back, "I was just about to leave anyway. I have to prepare myself for tomorrow's class."
"So, Keith," Shiro said, pointing at a chair for him to sit in, "what's on your mind?"
"I have a question about this homework," Keith said as he handed him the assigned homework.
"I thought you didn't do homework?" Shiro asked with a smirk.
"Well, it's officer Egan's homework, and she can get scary when you don't do as you're told," Keith answered.
Which was true. Officer Egan was Pigtails' older sister, and the two did not look alike at all but Egan could have this death glare in her eyes actually making you wish you were dead.
"I know," Shiro said and he chuckled, "I was in class with her myself."
"Really?" Keith asked shocked, Keith never really payed much attention to anyone.
"Yes, she is my best friend," Shiro explained, "she can be easy going if you do as you were told."
"I guess Adam and her get along well then," Keith scratched his head as Shiro chuckled and nodded.
"Listen Keith, if you have homework questions about her subject, you should go and ask her yourself," Shiro looked stern, "I know she had already told you to do so."
"Fine!" He groaned as he stormed off, walking towards Egans office like Shiro said.
"It's been a month," he could hear James which made him cringe, "I want to kiss you."
"I'm not ready, James," a girl giggled softly.
"Please," James begged. A girl that made James beg could actually be a friend of Keith, because James begging was making Keith feel better. James always got what he wanted and now he was begging this girl to kiss him.
"No, I don't want to yet, you have to accept that," she sounded more serious, "I'll tell you when I'm ready."
"Have you never kissed a guy before?" James asked irritated.
"No.." she answered a little ashamed.
"I'll be good," James said. The girl sighed and it went quiet. He had to walk through that hall to get to Egan's office. That was going to be awkward. Silly girl.
He stopped his pace when he saw it was Pigtails, giving James a quick kiss and blushing, looking down at the floor.
"Enough," she whispered with a certain type of strength in her voice, "I'm not ready."
"It's allright," James sais and he kissed her on her cheek, "I'll wait for you."
Pigtails smiled at James, not even noticing Keith at the end of the hallway. He did not know why, but it hurted him to see her so close to his enemy. He had learned something about Pigtails in the past three months and that was that she was a ray of sunshine, she was good and pure, always making people feel better and always getting good grades. James did not deserve someone like her, but that would also mean that Keith did not deserve her either. But why would he care?
The two did not even notice he was standing there looking at them holding each other as James kissed her on her cheek. It made him nauscious for some reason. James and Pigtails walked into the other direction and left the hallway with laughter.
He finally walked towards the office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," Egan said. The doors opened and he walked in, she sat at her desk and had placed some files to the side.
She said he could sit so he sat down and looked at her little nameplate on her desk saying: Avrigg Egan.
"You know, I'm not supposed to dislike my students, but I really dislike that Griffin guy," Egan said.
"Who doesn't?" Keith shrugged already feeling like Egan and him could get along.
"I still don't understand what my sister sees in that guy," Egan shrugged and leaned back in her chair, "but she has only seen good sides of people, so I guess she must have found a good side of him. Probably burried deep, deep inside of him."
She actually made Keith snort as he agreed with her. James was a prick and a bully, always feeling superior to everyone else.
"Don't tell anyone I said that," she continued as she laughed, "my sister doesn't know that I know about her dating him."
"I actually came with a question of the homework you gave earlier," Keith said, "officer Egan."
"Just call me Avrigg, Keith," she smiled, "I'm glad you came. I have to admit that I was not pleased to hear you were in the fighter class when I saw your school grades, since my sister's best friend who worked really hard to get in got placed in the cargo class. But when Shiro told me about your backstory I realised how wrong I was. I misjudged you, my apologies. You deserve to be here Keith and I am glad to see you work so good. In case you ever need help with anything you can always come to me, I'll be there."
"Thanks," he said, "Avrigg."
