Kentrell Gaulden
We had just landed in Dallas, and it had started pouring. We ran to our uber and settled in telling him the hotel to go to. Nobody came but, Ben, Three, Montana, Sania, and Janiyah. Me and Nyla came by default.
"Text her and tell her we here." Nyla said. I sent Amari the message and she sent her location. "Tonight at 10." It read. I showed it to everyone and they nodded. If I don't leave Dallas with my child, somebody gone die. For some reason, I feel like it's a set up. I shrugged the feeling off and climbed out the uber running to get inside.
"We all sharing a room?" Sania asked. "Hell yeah." I said. "It's 3 bedrooms in the suite. It's 7 of us." I said. "I'll sleep in your room." Nyla said and walked to the back. I eyed her and rolled my eyes. "Sania and Janiyah can share a room. "Y'all niggas figure it out." I said and walked to the back. I walked in the room and Nyla was staring out the window.
"What's wrong?" I asked sitting next to her. "I feel like this a set up." She said lowly. "I don't think she's her, I think she somewhere else." She said. "Gut feeling?" I asked. "Yeah." She said.
"You think we should pull back or what?" I asked. "No, cause I could be wrong." She said. I nodded. "Okay." I said. She laid back on the bed. "I'll take a nap, wake me up before 10." She said. "Okay." I said. Her eyes closed and I stood up walking out the room and to the living room. "Come on." I said to Ben, Three, and Montana. "We gone leave them?" Ben asked. "She think it's a set up, finna go check it out before we bring them." I said. "I was getting that feeling too." Montana said. "So it wasn't just us?" I asked. He shook his head.
We climbed into a taxi and they drove us to the location.
We made it to the building, unnoticeable. We didn't go in, we just looked inside the window. "She in there?" Ben asked. "I don't see her, I only she Amari and a bunch of niggas. They loaded." I said. "Most definitely a set up." Montana said. "Kaylani not here." I said.
"We leaving tomorrow." I said. We climbed back into the same taxi and they took us back to the hotel. I checked the time seeing it was 8. We walked into the room and it was quiet. "You good?" Ben asked me. "I'm straight." I said and walked into the room seeing Nyla was knocked out. I sat on the couch that was in the room and placed my head in my hands.
I stayed like that, thinking of possible ways I could trick Amari into leading me to where Kaylani was. As I was thinking, Nyla was waking up.
"Kentrell it's 10:30." She said. "It's no point in going, it's a set up." I said. "How you know?" She asked. "We went to check it out." I said sitting back. "So Kaylani isn't here?" She asked. I shook my head. "I'm sorry." I said. "I'm so sorry." I added. "I was supposed to bring her back." I said lowly. "We might have to get the police involved on this one." I said. "You want to ?" She asked. "I think it'll be better." I said. She nodded and called to file the missing child report.
She came and sat beside me and leaned on me. "I love you." She said. "I love you so much more." I said.
for the rest of the night, we just talked and watched tv. Like old times.
