A T H E N A-
The ride was quiet as we left for brunch and I sat all the way in the back of the black Cadillac Escalade that my uncle recently purchased, while the Lombardo's drove separately.
As we arrived, I saw many sophisticated people and looked down at my attire.
Sneakers was a big mistake.
Everyone glared down at my shoes as if it was the end of the world. It literally came to the point where the waiter had to come and warn me that I had to change my shoes because it didn't fit the dress code.
Luckily, Layla was kind of enough to give me another pair of shoes from the car and I thanked the Lord that they fit because being barefoot wouldn't be any better.
"I'm sorry you had to do this," I apologized.
She smiled and laughed. "Are you kidding? It's totally fine!" Her bubbly attitude made me feel better. "I thought you looked pretty as fuck, but I understand their rules."
I smiled and we both walked back inside. And when we went back to the huge table that we got, I was hit with a familiar hug."Andrew!" I exclaimed, excited that literally my favorite person was here.
"It's so nice to see you again. How are you?" He questioned me, running his hand through his blonde hair.
I grinned up at him, my hand resting on his chest as his one arm was wrapped around my shoulder.
"I'm good, just started my sophomore year in college." I said, happily. "What about you?"
"Still working hard with Bill here," he put his hand on my uncle's shoulder, patting it gentle.
"That's my boy," my uncle joked.
We laughed and finally sat down where everyone else was. Andrew was like my best friend, especially when we were younger.
He started hanging out with Steven a lot when they were like 16, but even then I was still with my parents. Growing up with him definitely helped me feel better about my aunt's and I's relationship and he's been my friend ever since.
Now, he was 23, working for my uncle's company and I am very grateful that I still get to see him. Not going to lie, I definitely had a huge crush on him while I was growing up, but it's faded away just a bit.
But I guess I might have little, tiny, itty, bitty crush on him still.
Crushes were exhausting to deal with and please, don't get me started on the football players at my school.
Especially Kyle.
Like, damn, he was the definition of perfection and nobody at all could argue with me that he wasn't because I'd just hit them with pure facts.
"Athena, did you hear me?" Andrew broke through my thoughts and I looked over at him.
"Huh?"
He laughed at my confusion. "I said maybe we can have an early dinner tonight at 4, maybe?"
"Yeah, definitely!" I said a bit too excitingly. "I mean, that would be great."
Smiling at him, I felt my heart skip a beat.
The feelings felt like they were coming back, but I still couldn't stop thinking about Leo, who was sitting right across from me may I add . . .

Brunch had ended and I was back at home, getting ready for dinner with Andrew tonight. My whole family practically ignored me at the restaurant and I was glad, really.
I mean, I'm getting a break from the reoccurring laps of dragging me through the shit covered grounds of where my aunt and cousin walked over. And I was okay with that.
Finishing up my warm shower, I wrapped the short white towel around me and started blow drying my long golden locks. After that, I did light makeup which was some mascara and a cherry red lipgloss.
Looking through my clothes in the closet, I wasn't exactly sure if this was a casual or formal dinner, but... yeah, probably some formal place. Andrew always found a way to spoil me.
I ended up picking a white dress that hugged my figure quite tight, but it looked really pretty and I just couldn't say no. I paired it with some white pumps and grabbed my bag before heading out of my bedroom.Making my way down the stairs, I saw Andrew talking to Steven. When I came into his view, he stopped and stared down at me and my outfit. "Wow, you look... you look so..." he couldn't seem to get the words out.
"Beautiful," he smiled in my direction and took my hand before placing a gentle kiss on it. I blushed and looked down. This man makes me feel so special.
But I still felt some type of feeling with Leo.

Dinner was amazing and we had such a good time catching up on things. As we made our way into my aunt and uncle's mansion, we saw the same image from last night and there were even more people.
I see Sarah just couldn't be pleased with one huge birthday party.
"Athena!" I felt someone take my hand. "How are you doing, baby?"
It was Max, slurring his words and wobbling around. Simon soon came in and tugged him back.
"Sorry, there. He's really drunk." He nervously smiled and walked away, his arms supporting Max who kept falling.
"Well... I guess he's a pretty wild guy," Andrew spoke up next to me. I laughed, agreeing with him.
The sound of my phone going off broke me away from him and I walked outside. It was an unknown number
"Hello?" I asked, getting a bit chilly from the autumn air.
"Why, hello there, sweet Athena!"
Vote & comment please!! See u in the next chapter ! :)
