Peter lay on his bed, holding his phone over his face. Tony had gave him a new one after he came home; it was a Stark phone and obviously had a tracker. It had been a couple days since Tony banned him from leaving the tower and it had been boring to say the least.

He spent most of his time training or calling M.J though she was at school all day so she barely had any time. Peter started online school, it was so easy and Peter would be done assignments in 20 minutes tops. The left a lot of time to just lay around and do nothing.

Suddenly, the name M.J popped up on his screen with a picture he had taken of her a while back. He pressed accept.

"Hey." Peter greeted dryly.

"What's wrong?" She asked, immediately noticing his long face.

"I'm just so bored. Facetiming you is literally the highlight of my day." He said with a chuckle. He never told her about being locked inside, trying to keep her from freaking out. He told himself he would tell her soon but he was sure that he would end up just letting it pass. It would pass soon, right?

"Well, we can go meet at Dan's coffee shop on 72nd avenue if you're up for it? We haven't been on a date in a while." She suggested. Peter hesitated, knowing he would be in so much trouble with Tony if he left the tower.

MJ noticed his hesitation. "But if you just rather call that's okay too." She added.

Peter shook his head. "No, no. I'll be there at 5."

She nodded. "Okay, see you then. Love you!"

Peter smiled. He had gotten back together with MJ a couple weeks ago; he felt like he was finally emotionally ready to be in a relationship again.

"Love you too." He said before hanging up. As soon as it ended, he groaned. He needed to figure out how he would sneak outside without Friday telling Tony and how he would avoid the police.

The coffee shop was pretty close to the tower so walking there wouldn't be too much of a risk. Besides, he usually patrolled on the whole other side of the city -Tony's orders- so the undercover cops would probably be mostly over there.

Luckily for Peter, Dan's coffee was almost always empty. It was probably because their coffee/drinks kinda sucked but he never said anything to MJ because it was her favourite place to go.

His plan was pretty much secured. I'll be safe.

Peter put on a hoodie and sweatpants, the Spiderman suit underneath just in case. He stuffed the mask in his pocket. If there was an emergency, Peter would be ready.

He shot a web over his doorknob, making it unable to open just in case Tony came to check up on him. He slid open the window and swung quietly down to the sidewalk, putting on his hood and trying to act as normal as he could.

Unfortunately for Peter, the streets were crowded. They wasn't too many people but there definitely were enough to make Peter anxious. People were walking everywhere but maybe that was better since he would blend with the crowd. Or maybe he was just thinking that so he wouldn't freak out. He checked his watch; it was 4:45. Only a couple more minutes of walking.

Some people were noticing him but they didn't say anything. Peter tried to have as little eye contact as possible but everybody seemed to stare. He was considering just swinging back home but with his luck, he felt a shiver shoot up his back. His spidey senses were going crazy. He looked around, trying to figure out what the problem was. For the first time ever, he was praying for a bank robbery.

His heart dropped. A tall and bulky man in a grey hoodie was standing across the street. He was reaching into his jacket in the way they did in the movies. Peter squinted a little, the glisten of a badge peaking through the man's first layer. It was obvious what was happening.

Peter didn't know what to do. Oh god oh god oh god.

Without even thinking, Peter swung up to a building roof and pulled off his sweatpants and hoodie leaving nothing but the suit on. He pulled on the mask; the only way to get out of this was to defend himself.

Swinging back down, he saw the undercover policeman pull out his gun and point it at Peter. As soon as the trigger was pulled, it was like everything was in slow motion. Ringing left in Peter's ears as he moved away from the first bullet that was coming straight for his chest. Everybody began screaming, running left and right. The policeman shot his second bullet, motioning for the people to leave the area. Peter was aware the cop wasn't the bad guy and was just doing his job but it didn't take away from the fact that Peter was being shot at.

The bullet barely missed his shoulder. Peter shot a web at the policeman's legs and pulled, causing the man to fall hard on his butt.

Peter decided that fleeing was the right move. He got ready to shoot a web when he noticed the policeman raising his gun again. Peter slid to the left, ready to dodge the bullet but stopped in his tracks. Everything was in slow motion again. There was a little boy, maybe 10 years old that was standing not too far behind him and it was clear that he was now the target. What seemed like the boy's mother was screaming and trying to pull him aside but she wasn't fast enough. Peter didn't know what to do.

Then a gunshot went off.
