"Year 20XX, 11-year-old Shiro Kurayami, lost control of her Quirk and killed four other children, one of them including her own younger 6-year-old brother, Kuro Kurayami."

"Bye bye, sis'!" A young boy waved his hand above his head frantically, a wide smile on his face. His yellow backpack slung behind him.

"I'll pick you up later, Kuro!" The boy's older sister waved back, a smile of her own on her lips as she watched him run into the small building that was his pre-school.

Just when her little brother disappeared within the doors of the building, the smile on her face dropped and her body turned to walk the other direction, her pace slow and hesitant to reach her destination.

Her hands were fiddling with the straps of her bag to the strands of her hair nervously with each step closer she took. She would lower her head down to look at her moving shoe-covered feet just so no one could see her face that was probably showing the expression of fear.

It was gonna be okay, she tried to tell herself that throughout the whole journey. Her heart's pounding was making it hard for her to concentrate on her own self-encouragement though, because she knew that no matter how many times she tried to reassure herself, it was all just a lie.

"You're late, Kurayami." The words were sharply spoken in her direction as soon as she walked past the sliding doors to her classroom, it was deadly silent other than the thick tension of eyes that looked down on her.

"I'm sorry." She murmured, her head down and afraid to meet the eyes of the adult that stood before her.

The teacher continued to stare at her student for a few more moments, then sighing as if to release whatever anger she had towards Shiro. "It's fine Kurayami, just be on time next time. Now go to your seat."

Shiro nodded meekly at her teacher and rushed to her seat at the far back, where no one could bother her or see her. Just as she slid into her chair, the teacher continued on with the lesson, telling the students to open the books on their desks to a certain page.

Having gotten the book out from her bag, Shiro turned to place it down on her own desk before stopping her movements. Her eyes scanned over the words and insults carved and written onto her desk as if to taunt her.

Monster, freak, weirdo

Many other names were seen on her desk, as well as messages too.

Go die, you don't deserve to be here, no one likes you

Shiro could feel eyes on her around the whole classroom, like her classmates were waiting to get a reaction from her in amusement. There was a lump caught in her throat and tears that were blurring her vision, but she held them in and continue to open her book.
