Marshadow first began to realize just how much he hated fighting Dungeon Pokémon once they reached three days of traveling.

The Dragon Mountain loomed over them, Marshadow dreading the moment Wyvee went to Latios and all the Dragons turned against Marshadow.

A warm summer breeze blew through the forest. It'd have been a beautiful day if smoke hadn't crowded the skies as Shadows purged everything in sight.

Marshadow didn't have much trouble dealing with the Dungeon Pokémon, he usually went on autopilot when fighting them. There were just so many of them. It drove him near mad.

The batch this time were a group of various Grass Pokémon. Spores clouded the air and petals and leaves flew about as the group made quick work of the Forest Pokémon.

A giant Tree-Looking thing slammed its branch of an arm into Omega and threw him into a tree. "Omega!" Jet cried and he jammed his razor sharp tail into the Tree-Creature, bringing the beast down.

Alpha and Ellie fired a powerful Fire and Dragon move respectively and most of the grass Pokémon began to flee.

The group regathered themselves and Marshadow sighed, looking back to confirm that Wyvee had kept to his trend of staying in the back.

Ellie grinned broadly as she continued onward down the path. "At this rate, we'll reach Central Town in no time team!"

"One can hope," Omega said, doing his best to hide a limp as he shuffled forward.

Marshadow paused as a good portion of the group began to move on. He had a bad feeling. "Guys, I think we might have trouble," Marshadow said. His statement was soon backed up by the ground shaking and a roar coming from just a couple dozen feet away.

How didn't I notice this? Marshadow thought to himself when the answer set in very clearly when he noticed the faint ringing in his ears and stared at Omega's leg.

They'd been too busy fighting Grass Pokémon and Wyvee's constant Boomburts had rendered any chance of preparation hopeless. While he was immune to the damage or the screams, the noise could still be heard and it was extremely loud.

"Stay close everyone. I don't know what's coming at us, but something tells me it's Shadows." Zax told the group and they tightened into a circle, getting into battle-ready positions.

A massive group of Shadows swarmed from the woods, maniacal laughter ringing in Marshadow's ears. He did his best to swat the attackers into oblivion.

Yet, he was far from ready for the onslaught of attackers they'd have to deal with. Shadows controlling various Grass Pokémon came next, sending off volleys of spores and stunning the two Gabite.

Shadows quickly swooped in and took control of both of them. Ellie cried out and tried to help her friends but Marshadow knew it was too late.

She roared in anger and unleashed a powerful beam of Dragon energy, obliterating most of the Shadows in its way.

Just when Marshadow let himself think they'd gained the upper hand, a Tyranitar under the control of a Shadow kicked down a few trees in its way and roared.

Marshadow remembered this Pokémon specifically. The creature had drifted into the Shadow Realm a few years before Marshadow had been overthrown and was possessed by a strong Shadow.

They'd held a competition to decide who would take control of the captured beast. Many Shadow fought in tournaments until the winner was decided and he claimed his prize.

Now the beast stared them down, ready to crush all of them in one move. His rocky armor glistened in the sun. With drab purple. Inside his black chest was a green gem hurried deeply.
