My heart pounds in my chest as we all wait in our hiding positions, ready for the fight of our lives. We've come up with a plan, a little bit of a messy one, but a plan none the less. And unfortunately, I'm a very intricate part of that plan. My eyes turn and drift over to Peter, who looks just as worried as I do.
"I love you." I mouth to him and he gives me a weak smile, nodding his head and mouthing back, "I love you too."
"Oh yeah, you're much more of a Thanos." Strange's voice filters through the air, drawing my attention.
A deep, rumbling voice deplores back, "I take it that Maw is dead."
There's a moment of silence before Thanos continues, "This day extracts a heavy toll. Still, he accomplished his mission."
"You may regret that. He brought you face to face with the Master of the Mystic Arts." Strange threatens.
Using Peter's power, we crawl up the of the ship, and peer over the edge down at Thanos, who is walking towards Strange, who sits down below us. The large, purple coloured man speaks again, "And where do you think he brought you?"
Strange looks around the rubble and wreckage, "Let me guess. Your home?"
Our enemy stops, one knee raised on a rock with the gauntlet covered hand resting on his thigh, "It was."
He closes his palm with the gauntlet and a red gem glows, all the destruction around us replaced with a beautiful civilisation. Thanos speaks almost wistfully as he looks around, "And it was beautiful. Titan was like most planets. Too many mouths, not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution."
"Genocide." Strange sneers.
"But random, dispassionate, fair to rich and poor alike. They called me a madman. And what I predicted came to pass." He whispers, before removing the illusion from around us and returns back to the dystopian landscape.
"Congratulations, you're a profit." Strange says snidely and he shakes his head, "I'm a survivor."
"Who wants to murder trillions." Strange argues.
"With all six stones, I could simply snap my fingers." He says with a shake of his non gauntlet hand, "They would all cease to exist. I call that mercy."
Strange stands up and steps forward, "And then what?"
"I'd finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. The hardest choices require the strongest wills." He explains simply.
"I think you'll find our will equal to yours." Strange counters, tapping his fists together before pulling them apart, the glowing geometric designs so surrounding around his hand.
"Our?" Thanos queries.
From up above us, Tony pushes a broken down ship into Thanos, dust billowing out from underneath as it crushes him. Tony's voice filters in over the intercom, "Piece of cake, Quill."
"Yeah, if your goal was to piss him off." Quill yells, flying in from the other side.
A bright purple glow comes from the ship as it explodes apart, Thanos screaming as he pushes away the debris. A red glow soon replaces the purple from the gauntlet and he waves his hand, the parts of the ship turning to bats, their attack set on Tony.
Peter swings down and webs Thanos, just as Drax comes past and slices behind his knee. Thanos stumbles and I fly down as he fights Thanos, getting hurt instantly from the power of the Titan. Strange is off to the side, using his power to entrap one of his arms. I fly down and touch Thanos' neck, feeling his raw power flowing through my veins. He grabs ahold of me and throws me away, but I catch myself with my boosters and land steady.
