"they're not dead yet," levi said sternly
                          
"how can you know," she asked, small tears in the corner of her eyes, levi looked at where he had hit her, and saw a red mark beginning to appear
                          
"because they have to be, I can't prove that they are, but I know they'll be fine," he told her
                          
she looked at him quietly for a moment, then nodded, they would be okay, they had to be
                          
she silently turned back to the intercom, continueing her attempts to get through to them

the explosion sight P.O.V.
                          
the man walked calmly away from the dust and debris, his body completely untouched by the smoke, he looked around, then held up the metal object
                          
"all this time and you were hiding in a lousy gas station," he said as he admired the small object, before putting it into his pocket
                          
lori, lynn, and lucy arrived, and set their gazes upon the man, he was at least 6"5' in height, and wore a long brown trenchcoat, that came down almost to his ankles, with black boot's and a cowboy's hat to hide his face, he faced away from them, giving them a tactical advantage, but judging by how he just walked away from a gas station explosion, he would not be an easy opponent, they crouched down in a nearby bush, while they decided on what to do
                          
"do we wait for the others, or do we go fight him now," lynn asked, looking slightly nervous about a fight for the first time
                          
"We wait, I can tell that lars is on his way, undoubtedly with his brothers, and I'm sure that lincoln will be here with Linka and Ronnie soon," lucy said
                          
lynn relaxed slightly, before realizing something "what if he notices us" she asked worriedly
                          
"I don't know, just be quiet", lori hissed, looking at lynn, lucy tapped her shoulder, and she quickly turned
                          
"what," lori asked harshly, lucy said nothing but pointed to where the man was standing, he had turned around, so that he was now facing them, glaring at the bush they hid in
                          
"stop hiding, what are you doing here," the man demanded in a voice that sent shivers through even lucy
                          
the three girls stood up, facing the man, they just had to stall, right, how hard could that be
                          
lori spoke up, swallowing the lump in her throat "we were just going to flips for some slushies, but got scared and hid when it blew up" she claimed
                          
"no, you didn't, don't lie to me, what are you really here for" the man spoke, his gruff voice seeming even more hoarse by the second 
                          
lori looked around frantically, trying to find an excuse, she to the side, and noticed the three boys approaching fast, ready to fight, lint took the form of a wolf and jumped at the man, but before he could grab hold of him, he shot out his arm, knocking lint to the ground, he walked over to the werewolf, and picked him up by the neck
                          
"that wasn't very smart" he simply spoke, before hurling lint at the other two boys, knocking them down
                          
"I know why you're here now" he said reaching into his pocket, and pulling out the object, holding it forward as to taunt them "you want this ring, but I'll be damned if I'll let you get it that easily" he finished, before launching into the air, he sprouted wings out of his back, which ripped through his trenchcoat, he stayed in the air, while lori stepped forward
                          
"WHAT ARE YOU" she shouted
                          
he spoke in the same tone, at the same volume, yet they still heard him perfectly clear, despite the distance "I am Jake, part of a race that has no name, we simply seek what we require, and destroy everything in our way, and continue destroying till there's nothing left"
                          
wait, your name is JAKE, what kind of villain name is that" Lynn asked
                          
"Is that REALLY what you're worried about right now"? the man asked in an annoyed tone
                          
"no" lynn simply said, as lincoln flew up behind him and punctured his back with his beak, which went right out the other side, skewering the man
                          
"you fool, you really think that will be enough to beat me," he asked, before laughing maniacally, and pulling himself off of Lincolns beak, the hole where it had been disappeared before his eyes, "I am much stronger than you could ever hope to be, give up, and I may yet spare your pathetic lives" he grinned
                          
"well, we won't be taking that option" lori retorted, launching into the air at him, he dogged to the left and lori crashed into lincoln, sending them and his passengers down, linka and ronnie quickly took the form of a bat and hawk respectively and landed safely on the ground, lori smacked onto the ground, lincoln landing on top of her shortly after
                          
"ooh, that'll leave a mark" Jake laughed, before flying back down to the ground, he approached lincoln and ran his hand over his large wing
                          
"huh, a quetzal, haven't seen a vampire use one of these yet" he spoke to himself
                          
"HANDS OF MY BOYFRIEND" ronnie-anne shouted, forming a bear and charging, she batted the man away, then turned back to a human, lincoln also lost his form, and ronnie helped him and lori up
                          
"Careful where you land lincoln" she complained, rubbing her now sore neck
                          
"fools, hehe, you think you can beat me, ME, I could end you without batting an eye, and you choose to spar," he asked, visibly annoyed
                          
"no" started lincoln "we were just stalling while the real plan took action
                          
silently, three large boa constrictors emerged from the surrounding rubble, before he could notice, the fist had coiled around his legs, and dropped him to the floor, the other two then wrapped around his waist, and chest, completely immobilizing him
                          
"HOW, WHEN DID YOU HAE TIME TO CO-ORDINATE THIS" he demanded
                          
"the thanks goes to ronnie, if she hadn't swung at you, that jamming frequency you were putting out would have still been going, but she stopped it by hitting you, just long enough for our genius siblings to get a hold of us, and give us a plan, the three that have you a little tied up at the moment are loki, lars, and lucy" lori explained
                          
"you'll never get away with this" he mumbled
                          
"Actually, we already have" lori said, picking up the man, along with the the vampires wrapped around him, and carrying him back to their home lint ran up to her, and helped her do so, leaving lincoln, linka, ronnie,  and lynn, who sat silently on the ground, he walked over to her, and sat down, facing her
                          
"what's wrong," he asked, worried for his sister
                          
"I feel like I didn't help at all, I didn't even get a hit in" she sighed, looking down to the ground, he quickly put a finger under her chin and tilted her head to look up at him again
                          
"I know what'll cheer you up," he said, standing up
                          
"what," she asked
                          
"how about we go find you some bungee jumping equipment," he said, holding his hand out
                          
"I'd like that," she replied, taking his hand, and pulling herself up, they all walked back home, unbeknownst to them, killing jake did more than they bargained for
