'So will yours.' He shot back.
'Then let's agree to sort this out without killing anyone.' Christina reasoned. The demon sighed and took down his hood. He wasn't as terrifying as they thought he was going be, red eyes pierced though a human face but it was covered with scars.
'There's a guy named Lex.' The demon said. 'I heard he was a bit unstable, has it out for witches especially. He's the guy you need to talk to. He lives in a warehouse down on Lombart Street, old watch factory I think.'
'Great.' Christina said. 'That's all we needed.' She was about to turn around when they heard someone yelling.
'Hey!' Said the voice. It was male and a little familiar. Christina turned back around and saw Jack, of all demons, running up behind the other demon.
'Jack?' Dani stepped forwards.
'Long time no see.' He said, slightly out of breath.
'Last time we saw you, you were running away like a coward.' Lisa said. 'How'd you end up here?'
'That's not important.' He said. He tugged on the lead demon's arm. 'Denzi, these are the witches who destroyed Abbadon, and the amulet.' Denzi tilted his head and looked at them.
'Really?' He said, interested.
'Oh dear.' Katherine thought out loud.
'Well, we're going to be on our way.' Dani raised her hand to wave goodbye. 'Thanks for the info.' She turned and was trying to lead her sisters out when she was blocked by several demons. She sighed.
'We don't need to do this Denzi.' Christina said.
'I think we do.' He replied, walking closer. 'I know who you are now. You've been taking down some powerful demons. So if I can take you down, then they'll have to make me ruler of the underworld.'
'I thought he was going to say that.' Lauren admitted. She reached into her bag and pulled out some potions, ready.
'Fine.' Christina said. She swung her arm and sent Denzi crashing backwards. Dani took that as her cue and did the same. She got all three demons blocking her way and they landed hard on the floor just in front of the exit. They were not surprised to see Jack making a run for it when everything kicked off. Amy and Lauren were throwing potions. Lisa and Katherine were doing the same on the other side. They were well and truly surrounded. Denzi got to his feet and shot energy balls at them. Christina was able to deflect one but a second hit her shoulder. She spun to the ground and saw Katherine stand above her, shield out. The next set of energy balls were sent back into Denzi and he was down again. Christina forced herself back to her feet and started knocking down some other demons to her right. Dani was trying to usher them towards the exit and keep the path clear when a laser like beam came at her, clipping her leg.
'Shit!' She cried, gripping her thigh whilst throwing an arm at the demon who'd hit her. 'What was that!' She yelled as he flew. He careened back into the side of a dumpster. Dani watched blood dripping down her leg before another blast hit the ground in front of her. She and Lauren were flung backwards, landing on the concrete. They had been separated from their sisters. Amy threw a freezing potion on a demon who was about to attack Lisa from behind. Lisa turned and saw him extremely close. She smiled to Amy before throwing an exploding potion at him and vanquishing him. The next blast caught them by surprise. A wave of energy swept them both up and they were lifted away. They crashed through a window of one of the abandoned shops. Amy rolled onto her back and picked some glass from a wound in her arm. Lisa was kneeling by the window already, watching as Katherine tried to deflect more attacks. She couldn't cover everything though, and a beam was sent into her back. She fell forwards and hit the ground. Christina scrambled over to her, already on the ground from another attack, and tried to haul her up. There was blood on her head and she was dazed.
'Kath, come on!' Christina pleaded, dragging her too her feet. Lauren and Dani had their backs to each other, trying to keep a three-sixty view of their attackers. Lauren was bleeding from a cut above her eye, and Dani was just trying to stay standing. She flung her arm and sent another demon flying away from them.
'Where the hell are they all coming from!' Dani yelled.
'I think hell is exactly right Dan.' Lauren said, bracing herself when she saw an attack coming. She couldn't stop it and she was forced back into Dani. They both landed hard against a wall. Dani lent against it whilst Lauren coughed on the ground.
'This sucks!' Dani complained, wincing as she tried to stop the bleeding from her leg. Christina and Katherine were almost back to their feet when Denzi stepped back up to them. He raised his arms and lifted them both towards the sky. They hung there, kicking the air, as he began to squeeze the life out of them.
'Chris!' Katherine choked out, grasping at imaginary hands around her throat. Christina tried to use her power to throw him off but it wasn't working. Her energy was draining and she could see black spots appearing in her vision. Amy had joined Lisa at the window.
'We need to do something.' She cried, looking around at her other sisters.
'Like what!?' Lisa panicked.
'Lise, you have to make the death beam work.' Amy said.
'No, I can't!' Lisa said, tears in her eyes.
'Look at our sisters Lisa, you have to!' She said, pointing to them. Lisa looked around. She heard Dani yelling something, Katherine pleading with Christina to do something. She stepped out of the window and focused, arms out. After a moment her breathing evened out and she felt the anger, saw the veins creeping up her arms. Denzi saw her coming and dropped his hold on Katherine and Christina. They landed on the ground, Christina crawling over to Katherine and looking towards Lisa. Denzi was about to step up to her when the black mass shot from her body. It swept over her sisters like wind but the demons were all thrown backwards until they were pretty much out of sight. Denzi braced himself against the power but was still shocked. He sent out an energy ball but the mass evaporated it before it could reach it's target. Lisa turned to him with her dark eyes and shot the death beam into him. He cried out in pain as the darkness took him over. His eyes were soon as dark as Lisa's and the power was killing him from the inside out. After one final surge of energy he exploded. Christina lent over Katherine, shielding her from the blast, Lauren and Dani peered around the wall they had taken cover behind, and Amy was standing in the window watching her sister single handedly take down a small army of demons. The silence was deafening. Lisa was standing in the middle of the outlet, eyes still as dark as the night with little bursts of power emanating from her. Amy came up to her side cautiously. Christina had pulled Katherine to her feet and Lauren was helping Dani over.
'Lise?' Amy said gently. Lisa turned to her, anger on her face. Amy took an unintentional step back which Lisa saw.
'Lisa, are you in there?' Christina asked, moving Katherine slightly behind her just in case. They saw Lisa nodding.
'Good, that's really good.' Dani smiled.
'Do you want me to...?' Amy lifted her hand and Lisa knew what she meant.
'Yeah.' Lisa croaked out. She was gritting her teeth, trying to not let the anger bubbling inside her spill over. 'Please.' Amy nodded and moved up to Lisa. She put a hand on her shoulder and sent her warm energy through Lisa's body. After a moment her eyes had returned to their normal colour and Lisa was blinking back at them. 'Everyone okay?" She asked, looking around at their varying degrees of injury.
'Just about.' Lauren confirmed. 'You saved us.' She smiled.
'I feel weird.' Lisa admitted.
'Shall we get out of here first? We can talk later.' Dani said, motioning to a handful of demons who were trying to get back to their feet. Lisa nodded and helped support Katherine as they walked slowly back to their car.
