Marshadow drifted ahead of the others. He'd always been an optimist but this was simply insane. Their entire realm was in danger the moment Shadow Deoxys finally opened the portal.
Until then he had to watch his allies lose all hope and have the life drained from them while their home crumbled around them.
Marshadow had little in the ways of a plan. There was no way they could defeat all of the Shadows, but if they could get the jump on Shadow Deoxys with the entire Bolt Guild they may stand a chance against him.
Then if Marshadow could get his clutches on his crown he could regain control of his army.
Their ragtag team had been slowly making progress to Central Town. The problem was that there were so many enemy Pokémon that they couldn't make much progress before they were too tired and had to rest.
Ellie's Dragon Friends were mostly tolerable. Two Gabite, a Hakomo-o and a Noivern. The Gabite and Hakomo-o didn't talk much but he was quite familiar with the Noivern.
The Noivern went by Wyvee and carried himself like he was royalty. He flew over the battles and would dig his massive claws into any Shadows or Pokémon that got too close. Usually, however, he just fired off Boombursts from afar.
He was very vocal about how much he seemed to distrust Marshadow. He was very vocal about everything, actually.
Marshadow had already beat him up over how much of a failure he was for years. The stranger's words were ineffective on him.
The group decided to stop for the day again. Marshadow just wanted to arrive at their destination. He had no idea where they were but he knew they made very little progress today.
Wyvee grinned once Ellie decided it was time to stop. "Finally, it feels like this day has gone on forever." He reaches into his bag and pulled out some food.
Alpha started a fire for them and they all gathered around, eating dinner. Marshadow passed on eating. He was feeling especially awful today.
"Hey guys, what if we tell some stories?" Omega suggested after finishing his apple. Marshadow was impressed with how loudly he heard Wyvee's eyes roll.
Ellie cracked a smile at the proposal. "What kind of stories did you have in mind?"
"I dunno," Omega shrugged. "Whatever kind of stories we want to tell. I'll go first-" Marshadow stopped listening. He didn't have anything against the Durant, but he just didn't care about some story.
Marshadow's thoughts drifted to when he was King. He missed the friend's he'd made over the centuries of ruling the realm. There had always been Shadows who weren't happy with their home. Weren't happy with how they were stuck in the Shadow Realm.
Marshadow tried to be as accommodating as he could. But, in the end, it wasn't up to him what the Higher Powers decided to make the Realm. Marshadow's job was to rule it. To keep them in check.
One time he had to put down a small but threatening rebellion. A small group of Shadows took over a mine and made Mirror Ruby weapons.
The Ruby had many strange properties. One was that it could absorb and store the power of attacks. Another was that you could peer into other realms with it.
Most useful to the Rebellion was the fact that Shadows reacted terribly to Mirror Ruby. They simply collapsed upon being exposed to enough Ruby.
Marshadow had personally led the suppression of that rebellion. Afterward, he'd decided to have Mirror Ruby Armor made for him to go with his crown in case he ever had a larger threat to deal with.
